It had been months since Aloy had last returned to her home tribe. She had been spending most of her time hunting machines in and around Meridian, where the biggest corrupted machine problem was. The red-headed huntress spent a lot of time in the Hunters' Lodge, collecting trophies for the heck of it from the many giant machines she would take down. Talanah, her hawk, would constantly give her praise, but on the other hand would always be telling her to slow down and take a break.
Aloy's response was always, "A true huntress never slows down", a phrase she learned and had taken from another close friend of hers, Ikrie, of the Banuk.
There was only so much that could be done in Meridian, though. There may always be machine convoys walking through, and more machines being made in the cauldrons, but seeing the same things and doing the same things every day gets kind of boring. Aloy had a never ending restlessness, and always had to be moving. She left the big, bustling city of Meridian, heading towards the place she had called 'home' for 18 years of her life, for she was feeling nostalgic—she wondered what the Nora were up to nowadays, anyway. She was sure they were faring well without her.
She approaches the Daytower Gate, slowly walking into the snowier region of the Embrace—well, almost the Embrace. There was still aways for her to go until she reached her home, but now everything was starting to look all the more familiar to her. She took a breath, walking through the area filled with docile (at least somewhat) machines. She stayed quiet, making sure not to startle them.
She passes through Mother's Rise to get to the main capital city of the Nora, Mother's Heart. Many of the other Nora from the other Embrace settlements try to get her attention, but she shushes them, asking them to keep hush. She peeks through the archway into the settlement, seeing many small Nora children listening to one of the minstrels. She sneaks through the archway, making sure she wasn't seen, to hear a little more of the story being told. She stuck to the edges of the walls, staying as far as possible. She didn't want to interrupt, and she really wanted to surprise the few people that she grew up with that were left from the Proving massacre.
"There will come a soldier
Who carries a mighty sword
He will tear your city down, oh lei oh lai oh Lord
Oh lei, oh lai, oh lei, oh Lord
He will tear your city down, oh lei oh lai oh Lord"
"She had a desire to find out why she was outcast from birth—she was determined to find answers about anything leading up to her..."
They were telling her story! Upon hearing this, Aloy smiled slightly. She was so honored to hear that her story was being told to the new generation of Braves.
"She was marked a Seeker not long after The Proving and becoming a Brave. This allowed for her to find the answers she sought, which was the boon of her choice, without being shunned yet again for leaving the area of the Sacred Land,"
Aloy never truly understood the laws of the Nora tribe. Because she was outcast from the tribe since she was little, they'd always frustrated her. But now that she was a Seeker, she works to find justice for the other outcasts (even though she wasn't allowed to talk to them. But did she care? Absolutely not) when she's around.
"She fought many battles with the Eclipse, giant and corrupted machines to get the answers she deserved. And to fight against the corruption our goddess spoke of to her. To save our tribe,"
She'd mumble, "and I got those answers,"
"She preferred to keep her distance from the Nora because she felt she didn't belong. She'll always be welcome back here as this is her home,"
