A person that believes at a religion/cult/magic that contains a punishment law which if the person in question 'questions' the religion/cult/magic, she will be punished by it. An example is a story of a boy that believes in Jehovah. He questioning leaves to punishment, doing so, he will not follow jehovah's witteness rule, and can be shunned from the religious group not being able to have any contact with his conjugates in the religion.
People in this religious group truthfully believe, that jehovah is watching them 24/7 and can listen and see. Yet, if jehovah as much other gods, is the extreme powerfull entity, so he would be able listen to it.
The point is, if one expects to be punished, the punishment needs to be real first. By that, the person has the idea of it being real. If he question the existance of the own mighty entity, he gets scared of being punished, then starts forcing himself to think in another thing, because he feels guilt about it. But, if he believes in punishment, then it's still real on his own eyes, so, he is not able to be punished. One could think, this own mighty powerfull entity, that knows everything (generally) will be able to distinguish it, and not punish the questioner. Only when the questioner accepts that it isn't real, then if the punishment was real, it would happen. But, if not, the questioner would be finally free.
By that we can say, a way to unbelief, to question something that is only real in one's mind, is to have the knowledged that, along the way, a punishment for questioning is impossible until done and the punishment really happening.
And if ones really beilieve in heaven, and that would be a thing to lost. After no accepting it, it would be the same. A life without something that never existed. If you still believe it, you had done no questioning at all.
