Soccer Camp

Chapter 2

Chapter 2;

Once I had gotten to the cabin, unpacked and met everyone in my cabin, it was time for dinner. I was probably going to eat with the councilors from my cabin, but I didn't know yet, I mean, what if they can tell that i'm an 17 year old. I don't want them to know until later when we start playing. Lindsey and I walked over to the dining hall we noticed some people going inside;

"Lindsey, I think you have to stay out here, you are a 'camper'"

"Megan, what if they absolutely hate me, what if they make fun of me, what will I do?"

"Lindsey, from the short time I have known you, you don't have to worry, stand your ground and don't let anyone tell you that you can't do something, if they do, crush them to pieces"

So I stayed out with all of the boys, I earned some whispers from this but I didn't really care. The camp Director came out and started talking to us, he had his eyes locked on me the whole time. Once he finished talking some guys came up to me and started talking;

"Why are you here, girls aren't allowed at this camp" the guy laughed

"What? You think that I can't play football?" I replied replaying Megan's words in my head over and over again.

"Yeah, that's exactly what I think, now go run on home and let the boys do the dirty work." The guy responded quite quickly. With that him and his little minions walked away. Jeez, and I thought that it was girls that were all sassy frassy. I then walked into the dining hall and got my food. I looked around the dining hall for Lindsey and I saw her waving me over to where she was seated.

"Hey Megan," I managed to get out before I stuffed my face with food.

"Woah, calm down I don't want you to choke and die on me, you're like the only good person at this camp." she said, does she really want me here, or is she just saying that.

"Sorry, didn't realize I was 'worrying' you, I wouldn't want to leave you here with only the boys and your 'councilor friends'" I said to her, maybe she actually wanted me to be here, everyone else is literately them most stuck up people here.

"Ohhh look who it is, miss. I can play football, who is this, please tell me their aren't two of you." The guy from earlier said while waltzing over to our table.

"Lindsey who is this?"

"This, is a stuck up, snotty, fake ass bitch, that thinks girls can't play football." I replied back to Megan before adding "Just Ignore him, maybe if we don't acknowledge him he'll go away"

"awww, is this your only friend at the camp, do you want me to call mummy so she can come and pick you up?" He said back to me, and I still didn't know his name.

"Woah and no, back the fuck off, I am a camp counselor, I can and will send you home if I really need to." Megan said to the boy, I'm surprised, he looked about 16 or 17 so around my age but I'm not sure.

"Ohh, your friend is a counselor, she's going to send me home. What am I going to do?" The guy asked me

"What is your name, i'm reporting you for verbal abuse." Megan said to the guy, nothing good is going to come from this.

"Well, that's just a shame, 'cause if you report me, I have my ways that can get you fired from working here." He smirked off at us then sauntered away.

"What a bitch." Megan said to me, we then walked back to our cabin and we started talking about random things such as soccer and family. "Wait so what you're telling me is it's only you and your dad, your mom and brother walked out on you when 3 and you haven't seen them since, also, your dad is one of the biggest coaches in the world?" Lindsey asked my shocked

"Yeah, it's not that great but I've been play football my whole life and i've trained with some of the most famous players in the world." I replied without a care.

"What, you're so lucky, I wish I could do that, if you've trained with some of the best players, you must be good." She said, but I really didn't care, I came here to play football.

"Yeah, I guess it's cool-" I started to reply before begin stopped by the PA system.

"ALL CAMPERS MUST GET CHANGED INTO FOOTBALL GEAR AND REPORT TO THE FIELDS AT ONCE, ALL COUNCILORS MUST MEET THEM THERE." the announcer said.

"Well Lindsay, I gotta get down to the fields and you gotta get changed," she said then sauntered away like it was no big deal, it wasn't, but I don't know what guys will think of me on there team. I really hope that this goes well.

Once I was finished changing and down at the field, we started passing the ball and juggling, knowing no one would want to pass with me, I started juggling, I was at almost 230 when then ball dropped and everyone was staring at me.

"What, never seen a girl juggle before?" I asked before muttering under my breath "Idiots" and walking away from everyone that was staring.

"Hey, i'm Luke, wanna pass together?" This guy, who's name I assume was Luke, asked me.

"Umm, sure I guess so," I asked sort of uneasy.

"Cool, let's use your ball." Luke said to me and we started to pass "So where are you from?" Luke asked me

"Well I live in Sydney Australia and i've lived there my whole life, I couldn't imagine life not there." I said pretty honestly

"Oh that's cool i'm from Sydney too, so are my three other friends here, Ashton, Calum, and Michael." he replied, now I know where I saw him, he was behind the guys that asked me why I was here.

"Wait, are you friends with the guys that came up to me earlier?" I asked him.

"Yeah, sort of" he said while scratching the back of his neck. Wow, those guys are assholes. "But, I am sorry for what Calum has said to you, I think it's cool that you're here, you know, not caring that you're a girl, I guess it all comes down to the sport." He said.

"Thanks, for being nice to me and all, I don't know what I would do if it was only me and Megan. I mean she's great and all, but she's also a councilor and she may turn on my back, I never know." and after we had that little heart to heart, it just went back to silence, but not an awkward silence, a piece full one, that was ruined by Bob, once again.

"CAMPERS, NOW WE ARE GOING TO HAVE YOU SHOW US YOUR SKILLS THEN WE WILL PULL 10 NAMES FROM A HAT TO BE CAPTAINS TO PICK TEAMS AND THAT WILL BE THE END OF TONIGHT." The big daddy, who's name I found out was Frank, yelled at all of us, oh great, team captains, no one will want me on there team. So we started, it was going really well, we were doing defense right now, I'm more of a forward, but i can play both. Then they had us go to shooting, this was what I had been waiting for my whole life, we started with corner kicks, one person would kick it and it would be only you, you would try to get it into the goal. The guy that thinks i'm not good at football, I think Luke said his name was Calum, kicked it to me, a little above my head, wow now you think I can't do a bicycle kick, oh are you wrong. I did a bicycle kick and swished it into the corner of the net. Then I walked away. After a little while more of me being amazing, we decided to pick teams.

"Okay, so, the team captains will be, Will Semmi, Kyle Zawada, Matt Archer, Luke Hemmimgs, Ross Que, Josh Beck, Liam Albaum, Jake Smith, Keegan Williams, and Alex Lucky. We will give them a sheet of paper to write down who you want on your team, give it to a councilor in the morning and get some sleep! Good night everyone!" and with that I met up with Megan and started walking back to the cabin.

So... How was it? I am really starting to get into this book, I wrote this chapter on my laptop while coming home from a soccer tournament, we got first place and if you wanted to know, We won our 3rd game 9-0. Yay, go us.. I'll try to update soon but you'll never know.. Hope you enjoy!
