Chapter Seven

Hinata took the moment as an advantage and quickly shoved Neji off of her, and ran behind Tenten.

Neji didn't move; he did not trust himself to.

Tenten assessed the way Neji looked and sounded. 'Pale skin, red eyes, sharp teeth and claws.... Just like last time,' she thought. Neji gripped the wall to where it cracked and tilted his head to look at the both of them.

This move terrified Tenten and caused her to raise her kunai.

"D-Don't move, Neji," she demanded. Neji didn't listen and slowly turned and walked to her. Tenten could feel her legs turn to jelly but didn't dare move. Hinata was crouching and whimpering right behind her.

Neji walked up to where he was five feet before her and grabbed her arm before Tenten even realized his hand had moved.

Neji held Tenten's injured arm and looked up and down her skin.

A part of him wanted to sink his teeth into her arm, while the other part of him was forced to realize he had harmed her.

Neji was visibly shaken up, and he leaned down and kissed her arm gently. Tenten was trembling, and she asked, "Why.... Why are you doing this?"

He looked up at her apologetically but before he could say anything, Yoru appeared in the room and said, "No Neji, I meant for you to suck Hinata. Oh well, she'll do just fine."

Tenten looked up at Yoru and saw the same terrifying features at Neji had. Neji let Tenten's arm go and turned to his mother, shaking his head and saying, "I will not, mother..."

Tenten's jaw all but dropped at his statement.

She then looked up at the woman Neji claimed to be his mother and found her none too pleased. Yoru gritted her teeth before smiling and saying, "What did you just say to me?"

Neji spread his arms out between Yoru and the girls, his eyes returning to their normal color as his Byakugan activated. "I'm not going to harm them. And neither will you, Yoru."

She sighed before saying, "Bonds are a terrible thing to have."

Yoru suddenly lifted Neji off the ground and flung him elsewhere. Tenten and Hinata watched in horror as he slammed against the wall and cough up blood.

Neji landed on his knees and hands, breathing hard and groaning loudly and painfully as his "other" side was trying to take over.

Tenten would've ran to him, but Yoru was closing in on them, so she quickly opened a scroll and sent kunai flying her way.

Yoru dodged with ease and had grabbed onto Tenten's neck, causing her to gasp and choke. Hinata ran to assist Tenten but was all but helpless when Yoru grabbed onto her as well. She chuckled and looked at both young kunoichi.

"So which one of you are to be my meal today, hmm?"

Tenten screamed out and slammed a kunai down on Yoru's wrist, causing her to yell out and drop Tenten. She took the opportunity to save Hinata and slammed her body up against Yoru's, sending her tumbling back and letting go of Hinata.

Tenten grabbed onto Hinata and yelled, "Get out of here now!! Go get help!!"

Before Hinata could respond, Yoru had already stood up, and Tenten shoved her out of the room, slamming the door shut right before being lifted off the ground.

Tenten screamed as Yoru sunk her claws inside her back.

"Naughty girl! You know better than you attack your elders!!" Yoru cackled.
