Jamie was annoyed.
His arms were folded over his chest, and he stood behind Hopper in the Principal's office.
The office was as interesting as a hairpin. The decor looked like it was bought from a cheap retail store. The white walls looked like they were the flooring of a bathroom. There were several paintings hanging on these walls. Calling them paintings, however, was an insult to paintings. They were more like glorified greeting card images. The shelves were placed haphazardly, making the room feel more cramped than it already was. The principal could have atleast made an effort to keep the items on his mundane desk organized. But no, they were scattered around like some smelly teenager's bedroom.
The three boys were trying to explain everything that happened last night, their annoying voices overlapping, and invading the curly haired boy's ears like someone was poking them with a sharp needle.
Hopper and Jamie rolled their eyes simultaneously.
"Okay, okay, okay. One at a time alright. You.", he said the final part pointing at Mike, who had so far decided not to question his brother's involvement with the police.
"You said he takes what?", Jamie questioned aloud, making everyone turn to him, to which he just shrugged.
"Mirkwood.", Mike said, looking at Hopper, which earned an eyeroll from Jamie.
"Mirkwood?", Hopper questioned with a raised eyebrows.
"Yeah.", Mike confirmed with a nod of his head.
"Have you ever heard of Mirkwood?", Hopper asked the other officer, who was seated beside him.
"I have not. It sounds made up to me.", he replied.
"That's because it is. From a book.", Jamie cut in.
"Lord of the Rings.", Lucas said, but Dustin shook his head in denial.
"Well, the Hobbit."
"It doesn't matter.", Lucas argued back.
"It does matter. They were two different books, released in two different times.", Jamie told him, and he looked back at the boy with a look of disbelief. Dustin agreed with the curly haired boy.
"Wha- Why are you even here?", Lucas asked him. Jamie tilted his head.
"I'm an intern.", he simply replied. Hopper sighed.
"We hire interns?", the other cop questioned Jim.
"Under special recommendation from the Chief, yes we do hire interns.", Hopper told him, trying to move on from the topic.
"We're getting distracted. You were talking about Mirkwood, Mr. Wheeler.", Jamie rolled. Mike rolled his eyes at his brother, causing Jamie and Hopper to smirk.
