The school excursion to the Forbidden City was in full swing, and my classmates and I were eagerly waiting for our designated buses to arrive.
Each section had its own bus, but luckily for us, our bus was shared with the Mieying and Dre sections since not all of their classmates had participated.
Finally, our bus pulled up, and my classmates hurriedly made their way inside to secure seats either at the front or the back
As I stepped onto the bus, I scanned the available seats. I noticed that Dre had a seatmate—Meiying—so I decided to head towards the back. There, I spotted a vacant seat and quickly settled into it.
Before long, I felt someone sit down beside me, and to my surprise, it was Zhuang. "Oh, it's [Name]," Zhuang remarked, glancing at his friends. I rolled my eyes in response to his comment.
"Zhuang, let's switch seats," Cheng suggested, and they promptly did, much to my annoyance. Cheng took the seat beside me with a smirk on his face.
"So, how do you rate my kung fu moves?" he inquired, a mischievous tone in his voice.
"Horrible," I replied curtly, causing him to chuckle. "Ouch, that hurts," he feigned injury, clutching his chest.
"You could at least tell me that I'm great," he whispered in my ear, prompting me to push him away. However, he remained undeterred. "I promise I won't tell anyone," he added, blowing into my ear playfully.
"Could you please stay 100 miles away from me?" I retorted, exasperated.
Deciding to tune him out, I inserted my earphones and attempted to ignore Cheng as he chuckled and settled comfortably in his seat.
I focused on gazing out the window, trying to enjoy the scenery and the excitement of the trip.
Just as I thought I had successfully distanced myself from Cheng's antics, I felt a light poke on my shoulder and a gentle touch on my cheek
I turned to see Cheng looking at me, mouthing the words, "Entertain me." I responded by sticking my tongue out at him in jest.
Continuing to ignore Cheng, I kept my attention fixed on the passing view outside. However, after a while, I felt a slight weight on my shoulder and turned to find Cheng leaning against it, seemingly asleep.
Part of me wanted to push his head away, but seeing him looking so tired, I decided to let him rest and leaned back as well.
As Cheng dozed off on my shoulder, I couldn't help but steal glances at his peaceful and handsome sleeping face. He seemed so innocent in that moment, and I couldn't help but feel a sense of warmth and familiarity.
Wanting to make his nap more comfortable, I gently placed the other earphone into Cheng's ear, allowing him to enjoy some music while he slept. Leaning closer, I whispered, "Sleep well."
