Look, I didn't want to be a half-blood. Being a half-blood sucks. If you're mortal and reading this because you think I'm making all this up or something, that's great! At least you don't have monsters trying to kill you every second.

But if you feel something when you read this, close this book, throw it away and try to live a normal life. Try to stay normal as long as possible. But if you're dad is one of the big three, then I would advise you to get to camp as soon as possible.

My name is Phoebe. Phoebe Eastwood. I'm eleven years old. I could start this story at any time in my miserable life, but I'll start when it all began a few months ago.

At that point, I was a "normal" kid attending this boarding school that my mom had sent me to. It was called St Peter's Academy. Why it was in America, I'll probably never know.

It was the most boring place in the world, and I hated every single second of it. The only class that was enjoyable was Mr Brunner's Latin class. Mr Brunner was this middle aged guy in a wheelchair. Apparently, he had gotten into an accident when he was a child and that was why he was disabled.

My seat was the worst place to sit in the whole class. Luckily, I was sitting next to my best friend, Ezen, so it wasn't all bad. Ezen was short for his age and he used crutches to get around because he had this leg disease or something.

He had short, curly brown hair which matched his eyes. Because of his disease, he was often bullied by my classmates, particularly the class bully Felix Honaz. The class was Latin, and Mr Brunner was giving us all a lecture again.

"Hey loser!" My head turned to see Felix behind me, laughing under his breath.
"What do you want, you idiot?" I whispered so Brunner wouldn't hear me.
"Phoebe, stop."

Ezen tugged my arm so I turned around.
"Just stop talking to him, he's trying to make you angry. And besides, you don't want to get sent to the principal's office again."

I let out a sigh and folded my arms. Five minutes passed before Felix started shooting spitballs at me and Ezen. He was the most annoying person ever.

"Stop it!"
"Miss Eastwood." I froze when I realised the whole class was looking at me while Felix snickered.

If it had been anyone else who said it, Brunner wouldn't have noticed, but he had to notice every crime I committed. Ezen didn't know what to do, so he didn't say anything.
"Go to the principal's office right now." Everyone jeered as I stood up and walked to the door. I turned around to look at Ezen one last time before I walked out of the room.

To be honest, I was shivering. The principal, Mr Kinestone, was my stepfather and every time me or my mom made him anger or wasted his time, he would get aggressive. And the worst part was that they were no cameras in his office, so I couldn't prove anything.

The halls were quiet as usual. All of the students were in their classes or in their dorms, so it was just me. Being alone was the worst feeling ever. It was like you had no purpose in life, and you existed because someone brought you into the world.

When I reached the door, I wanted to run. I wanted to run back to the classroom and tell Mr Brunner what he always did to me, but I knew he wouldn't believe me.

So after a few minutes, I knocked the door.
"Come in!" I shut the door and walked over to his desk.
"Ah, Phoebe. What have you done this time?"

"Nothing. Apart from telling an annoying idiot to shut up." As soon as I said the word "idiot", he stood up and punched his desk.

"You will not say those words in my presence! Do you understand?"
"Y-Yes sir." Another bad thing was that he was tall and muscular as well, so if I tried to fight him, he'd probably knock me out and I'd end up in hospital.
