'I will not be rude to the Malfoys'

'I will not be rude to the Malfoys'

I scowled and looked up. It was July 31 and we, as in Basil, Snape and I, went to Diagon Alley, and we saw a family of snobby blonds. I rubbed my hands and looked around the kitchen. "You aren't going to get any writing done if you do not keep it up. How many lines did you accomplish?" Snape asked, looking over my shoulder.

"I don't know... about two parchments." I said, twisting my wrist. He nodded and put a hand on my shoulder. I tense up, but he dosen't seem to notice.

"That will be enough, but expect to be sitting at this chair again if you disrespect or disobey your elders." He warned.

"Yes sir." I said, hiding a smile at how he froze. He squeezed my shoulder reassuringly and smirked.

"Are you already getting ready for Hogwarts?"  He asked as he let go of my shoulder and went to sit for a chair right across from me. I nodded.

"Yes sir, I am. I mean, I don't want to get detention my first day, do I?"

"No you do not." Basil said as she walked into the kitchen, holding paper bags. "Here, sir, I had got the groceries for you."

"Good, good." Snape said, looking at his watch. "Do you two girls want me to sign your Hogsmead permission slips?" He asked.  I nodded, as basil said a 'yes sir', Snape told us all about the wizarding world. About Hogwarts and about a dark wizard named Voldemort, who was defeated by a baby named Harry Potter, and I heard that Harry was as old as I was, and that he survived the killing curse. Yeah, I'm rambling. I pulled the slip out of my pockets and handed it to Snape. He signed mine and Basil's with a quick flourish and stuck it in his breast pocket.

"Now," He said, looking at us with a face that read 'Hear me now because I will not repeat myself'. "If one of you get into any trouble, I will rip this slip in half." He stated quite warningly.  I nodded along with Basil. "Now, Let's eat supper."

*********

I was sitting in front of the warm fire, read Hogwarts: A History , while Snape, was sitting in his favorite armchair, reading the Daily Prophet. And on the front page, it had a picture of a gruff looking man, laughing manically. I furrowed my brow and looked at Snape. "Who's that, sir?" Snape put the paper down and frowned.

"Sirius Black." He spat, as though the name was dirt stuck to his tongue. "A mass murder that wants to kill Potter... He also betrayed them to the Dark Lord."

"So he told Voldemort and he went and killed the Potter's?" I asked. Snape nodded, and went back to his paper. "Why does he want to kill Harry?"  Snape rolled his eyes and put down the paper once more.

"Because, he wants revenge for the Dark Lord... He was a follower of him." I scowled. "It's late Sorah, You should get to bed." I shook my head and laid on the floor on my stomach.

"One more chapter, Please?" I asked. He rolled his eyes.

"Fine, but be quiet. Are you all packed for the train tomorrow?" He asked. I nodded. "Good." The he went back to his paper. I smiled and looked down at my book, not really reading. I've learned to trust Snape, I mean, I really trust him. He's nice... sometimes he is. Most of the time he's really mean. I snickered and checked my watch. It was nine thirty P.M. Basil walked down the stairs in her Pajamas.

"Good night, Sorah, Professor." She said as she patted my head.

"Aye, get 'way!" I said. She pulled away almost instantly.
