"Emma, can I talk to you?" I tapped the girl on the shoulder. She turned and smiled at me.
"Ok so glad you came to your senses Astrid!" she hugged me. "So you want to tryout huh?"
"Erm..No, I -"
"Great!" Her friend pulled her up to the platform. "Here we go! Try on the bottom if the pyramid first. It'll be fun!"
"Emma, I -" My voice trailed away and Molly, another cheerleader pulled my ankle so I knelt to the floor.
"Ok ladies! Let's go!" Coach Bea snapped her fingers and a late blast of music appeared. Astrid, trying to explain to Emma that she wasn't here to tryout, was plunged upwards and had to dance to the beat along with everyone else. Bea smirked.
"Great girls!" she cried. "Bit let's have a switch! Ruby, come to the bottom. Alice, up one. You too Astrid." She grinned at the surprised Astrid. "Actually, let's make that another one."
"See!" Emma clapped her hands. "You made the too if the pyramid Astrid! Yay!"
I stared at her, then was helped to the top. The music started again, blaring around me.
I was plunged into the air again, only higher this time and pushed up. I screamed, being so high up.
"Emma, please listen!"
"Go, Bulldogs!"
"No, stop!"
Emma wouldn't listen. She danced around, while Bea smiled evilly at me. I glared down at her.
"Emma!" I felt myself tumbling down to the ground like I did when I was 11. Only nothing caught me.
I hit the ground, pain thrusting through me. I looked up as a crowd appeared around me.
"You're supposed to jump," was all Bea could say.
I glared up at her. Seriously?! I got to my feet and fell back down.
"Clumsy," Molly said under her breath. "She won't make the team."
I breathed out and felt my anger break through.
"Oh yeah?!" I felt my power force it's way through. No..No, please no..."
"Well fine!" I screamed, suddenly thrashing down my fists. The floor crashed upwards, making everyone fall like an earthquake.
I remained standing, watching everyone fall. Then I did it again.
Everyone tumbled, realising it was me who was doing this. They jumped, falling hard again. I suddenly smiled harder than Bea did.
"This is simple..." I murmured, crashing my hands against the walls, creating a large fire. "I can do this now!" Emily tried to run to I locked the door in front if her. She screamed and I made her trip. I smiled. Why not? I locked all the doors.
Molly gasped and got to her feet. I pushed a force if fire at her. She screamed and fell, being burnt alive.
Emily got up as well so I crashed her down, bringing the light towards her. Then I paused and craned it down next to her, making her scream so much harder. I let them light mix with my fire so they crackled and sparked.
Molly screamed as well, falling and trying so hard to get away from the fire. I pushed more towards her, then I worked hard on Bea.
I pushed all the chairs towards her and beated her up, hitting hard. All those times the chair legs ripped her own legs, it reminded me sourly of my parents. I smiled evilly and pulled Bea upwards. She screamed and kicked as I threw her into my fire.
Emma screamed and I glared at her. Flex. With my power, I dragged her through the air. I hung her above the lights, as they sparked and fizzed. She screamed harder and I pinned her heels onto the light. She screamed again, then fell silent.
I pulled her arms up and wound them around the large pole. I worked on Alice, grabbing her elbows and burning them hard. Her eyes faded as I smiled goodbye and hot her hard with fire. I pushed a bolt of smoke at Judy's chest, then Harriet, then Polly. I laughed. Just like dominos, I thought.
I continued my spiritual thinking.
"So yes, I didn't want to be a cheerleader.." I kicked Emily down as she tried to get up with my flexing. "And yes, I can't catch myself. I bolted some fire at Katie and Gemma. "But I'm pretty awesome at the chants and the moves. I giggled as I levitated over to Emma. "Aren't I?" I carefully touched her face. She woke, and suddenly started to scream again.
"Two, Four, Six, Eight..." I flexed at Mia from down bellow. She gasped and died instantly. Easy.
"Who do you all appreciate?" I giggled as I watched Bea sit up, burnt all over. I grinned and pushed a large smoke ball at her. I took my attention back to Emma. "Not the chants, not the turns..." I threw a final bolt if fire at her. She died as I levitated down to Bea and sighed happily. "But Astrid, who Burnz!" A rage flickered over me as I your tired her with my Fire bolts and blew smoke in her face.
