Elizabeth dozed against the Witcher as they travelled, her body exhausted after coming down from the adrenaline rush of finally escaping her keep.

After a time, she opened her eyes once again, lifting her chin to try and look around. Eyes squinting in the bright sun she coughed slightly, making the Witcher aware of her presence, not that he had forgotten. How could he. All he could feel was her body pressed against his own. How long it had been since her smelt the sweet smell of a female. All flowers and clean skin.

Geralt gazed down, blowing a stray red hair from his parched lips. "You okay little one? Not far now and you can rest..."

Elizabeth took a long breath, picking up a scent she had not had the pleasure of smelling for a long time. Fresh air. A smile played on her lips. Free. At last. Or was she.

Her eyes found his. Dark and serious. She felt her heart beat more rapidly with....fear? No. Not fear. Wariness.

Elizabeth didn't trust easily. And who could blame her. Being taken from her family and keep in a castle against your will would do that to anyone. But she felt strangely...safe wrapped in his embrace.

"I...uh....yes, iam fine....wait, how do you know my name?"

A small deep chuckle rocked her body as the Witcher laughed,

"How could I forget you Elizabeth..."

Taking his hand from her back as she sat more upright in the saddle he moved it slowly to push her wild hair behind her ear.

Elizabeth held her breath, used to touch yes, but not as gentle as this. Her head span slightly and she found herself laying back against his chest, breathing slowly to stop the nauseating feeling.

Geralt found himself holding his own breath as he felt her against him once more. Her even, controlled breaths fanning against the skin of his neck. He didn't dare move, afraid the moment would pass.

He was not used to closeness, being a lone Witcher, he chose to travel alone, but he knew he had to help the small Princess, how could he not. She was his after all.

The rule of surprise.

Geralt swallowed dryly, feeling a strange sensation deep within himself. Having her with him felt....right. like the world was finally in order. Gently he wrapped his arm around her again, holding her closer. Her soft lips brushed against his bare skin and he shivered, unable to stop his bodies reaction.

He felt Elizabeth stiffen slightly. He cleared his throat, patting her back in, which he hoped was a reassuring manner, "we will camp for the night here, then make our way to Kaer Morhen, you will be safe there." He said with assurity.
