Y/N's POV
"Mom? I'm home!" I called out as I shut the door to the house. I waited a few seconds, hoping for a response. "Mom?" I called out again. Still, no one responded. I wandered into the kitchen, only to find a note. I set down my school bag onto the dining table as I read the paper.
Bunny, (I rolled my eyes at the nickname she refused to stop using)
My second job called me in for an extra shift, so I won't be home until much later tonight. There is some leftover food in the fridge for dinner. Please finish your homework and go to bed at a decent time.
Love,
Mom
"Well that's just great." I mumbled as I crumpled up the note and threw it in the trash. "Another night alone." I sighed as I unzipped my school bag and got to work on math.

Suddenly, I woke up to pounding on the door. I rubbed my eyes and glanced at the wall clock. "Who in God's name is trying to break down the door at this time of night?" I grumbled as I trudged to the door and opened it. I immediately felt the blood drain from my face as I looked up at the two police officers and a lady in a pant suit. "W-what can I do for you?"
The pair of officers exchanged a look before turning back to me. "This is the L/N residence, correct?"
"Yes...?"
"I'm afraid we have some bad news... we may need to sit down for this."

"-and that's why I moved to South Park." I finished my story, I sniffled and rubbed the tears out of my eyes.
My father scratched the back of his head, avoiding the gazes of the Marsh family. "So... uh... yeah. That's what happened."
"When on earth we're you planning to tell us that you had a daughter?" My, apparently, aunt Sharon demanded.
"I didn't even know I had a daughter until yesterday! How the hell am I supposed to tell you about something I didn't know about?"
"Jimbo!" Sharon scolded him.
"What, I'm just saying!"
She shushed him and focused her attention on me. "Now listen to me now, honey. If you ever need anything you just call us, alright?" Aunt Sharon said kindly.
"Um... okay...?" I said hesitantly.
"Your cousin Stan is a freshman too so he will be able to help you out at school. Won't you, Stan?" She turned to the boy behind her.
"Mom, I don't wanna babysit her. My friends will make fun of me!"
"Stanley!"
"You wouldn't be babysitting me." I snapped at my cousin. "I'm capable of doing things on my own. I've been taking care of myself just fine since I was five!" I glanced at everyone's shocked faces, and I immediately felt heat rise up to my cheeks. "Sorry for my sudden outburst." I mumbled.
