II. THE PENALTY OF SIN

  📖Romans 6:23
[23]For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Sapagka't ang kabayaran ng kasalanan ay kamatayan; datapuwa't ang kaloob na walang bayad ng Dios ay buhay na walang hanggan kay Cristo Jesus na Panginoon natin.📖

🤔Is it referring to physical death❓(NO)

    -Dahil nagpatuloy sila Adam and Eve na mamuhay pagkatapos nila magkasala and face certain consequences.

       📖Genesis 3:16-19
[16]Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.
Sinabi niya sa babae, Pararamihin kong lubha ang iyong kalumbayan at ang iyong paglilihi; manganganak kang may kahirapan; at sa iyong asawa ay pahihinuhod ang iyong kalooban, at siya'y papapanginoon sa iyo.

[17]And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;
At kay Adam ay sinabi, Sapagka't iyong dininig ang tinig ng iyong asawa, at kumain ka ng bunga ng punong kahoy na aking iniutos sa iyo na sinabi, Huwag kang kakain niyaon; sumpain ang lupa dahil sa iyo; kakain ka sa kaniya sa pamamagitan ng iyong pagpapagal sa lahat ng mga araw ng iyong buhay;

[18]Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field;
Ang isisibol niyaon sa iyo ay mga tinik at mga dawag; at kakain ka ng pananim sa parang;

[19]In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.
Sa pawis ng iyong mukha ay kakain ka ng tinapay, hanggang sa ikaw ay mauwi sa lupa; sapagka't diyan ka kinuha: sapagka't ikaw ay alabok at sa alabok ka uuwi.📖

🤔So, In what way did they die that day❓

       📖John 3:5-6
[5]Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
Sumagot si Jesus, Katotohanan, katotohanang sinasabi ko sa iyo, Maliban na ang tao'y ipanganak ng tubig at ng Espiritu, ay hindi siya makapapasok sa kaharian ng Dios.

[6]That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
Ang ipinanganak ng laman ay laman nga; at ang ipinanganak ng Espiritu ay espiritu nga.📖

👉Jesus makes it clear in verse 5 and 6 that hindi sya tumutukoy about sa two(2) physical births instead;
     A. "That which is born of the  flesh is flesh" (Physical)
     B. "That which is born of Spirit is spirit" (Spiritual)

👉He is referring to two separate births, a physical and spiritual.

👉 At Kung may dalawang births, syempre may two deaths din.

Therefore, that time, Adam and Eve didn't die physically but spiritually. 

🤔What does it mean to be spiritually dead❓
   

✅We don't desire spiritual things (Hindi natin ginugusto ang mga Spiritual na bagay)
   a. Reading and studying our Bible.
   b. Sharing the Word of God specifically the Gospel
   c. We don't live our life according to what the Bible says (Hindi tayo pamumuhay base sa sinasabi ng Bible)

📎TAKE NOTE:
     • The Bible ay galing sa Panginoon (not literally). It is written by man but guided by the Holy Spirit
     • The Bible contains the revelation that there is an existing powerful creator and God (Para ipaalam na mayroong makapangyarihang maylikha at Diyos)
     • The Bible contains the laws of God (Ang bible ay naglalaman ng kautusan ng Diyos). 

       📖2 Timothy 3:16-17
[16]All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
[17]That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.📖

✅We live according to our fleshly desires
        📖Galatians 5:19-21
[19]Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
At hayag ang mga gawa ng laman, sa makatuwid ay ang mga ito: pakikiapid, karumihan, kalibugan,

[20]Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
Pagsamba sa diosdiosan, pangkukulam, mga pagtataniman, mga pagtatalo, mga paninibugho, mga pagkakaalitan, mga pagkakampikampi, mga pagkakabahabahagi, mga hidwang pananampalataya,

[21]Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
Mga kapanaghilian, mga paglalasing, mga kalayawan, at ang mga katulad nito; tungkol sa mga bagay na ito ay aking ipinagpapaunang ipaalaala sa inyo, tulad sa aking pagpapaalaala nang una sa inyo, na ang mga nagsisigawa ng gayong mga bagay ay hindi magsisipagmana ng kaharian ng Dios. 📖

✅We are unbelief of the truth (hindi naniniwala sa katotohanan) and easily deceived by the lies (madaling nadadala ng kasinungalingan)
   a. Do we believe what the Bible says?
   b. Do we desire to know the truth?
   c. Do we prove and study our knowledge about God?
   d. Do our beliefs and knowledge about God are the same as what the Bible says?

📌Spiritually dead means we are SEPARATED from God both physically and spiritually.
📌Because of that, our destination is straight to hell (READ Revelation 21:8)

     📖Revelation 21:8
[8]But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
Nguni't sa mga duwag, at sa mga hindi mananampalataya, at sa mga kasuklamsuklam, at sa mga mamamatay-tao, at sa mga mapakiapid, at sa mga manggagaway, at sa mga mapagsamba sa diosdiosan, at sa lahat na mga sinungaling, ang kanilang bahagi ay sa dagatdagatang nagniningas sa apoy at asupre; na siyang ikalawang kamatayan.📖

As a conclusion, The Penalty of sin is being separated from God, straight to hell. (Ang kabayaran ng kasalanan ay pagiging hiwalay sa Diyos at diretso sa impyerno)
