It was a cold morning when a young boy slowly got up and out of bed his hair twisted and messy, he yawned and opened the window getting hit by a frozen breeze and shivering a bit, immediately closing the window and sighing to himself he began to leave but suddenly saw something in the corner of his eye.

It was a blur and he couldn't make it out pressing his face towards the window to try and get a better look at...whatever this was as he saw it zip by again he jumped back from this as the boy just slapped his cheeks and ignored it for now.

This boy was Ken Haggard and he was a fairly average young man in this village full of prideful and big Vikings which he was used to at this point, walking downstairs he greeted his mother with a quick wave and sat down for breakfast licking his lips.

She smiled and cracked a few eggs onto the pan with the smell filling the entire house and an older man came down the stairs, the entire house shook with each step as he let out a hearty left placing his hand on her shoulder.

"Oh, Odalia dear you always know how to wake me up!"

She just smirked and nodded and gave a quick kiss on his cheek and continued to cook the eggs,  her movements were swift and graceful almost like she was dancing but that was up for speculation.

After a few more minutes she lifted the food and plopped it onto the plate, placing it down in front of everyone.

"I think I'm gonna take a quick nap"

She signed, everyone knew that Odalia was mute due to an accident she had as a child but she still lived like everyone else if not better than everyone else as she has learned and heightened her other senses due to her handicap.

As she walked up the stairs the big thundering Viking slapped Ken's back in excitement with Ken reeling back from the sudden pain.

"My boy...as you know I am getting old and won't be able to do my job alone and a certain someone would have to help me..."

He winked at Ken before getting up and heading outside for work, that was the Co-Chief of new Berk, Bruma he was the brawn while the Main Chief, Hiccup Haddock was the brains and had much more experience.

Ken cleaned the dishes while thinking about the blur he saw today, it was way too fast to be just a bird or some wild animal. While he was lost he got a bit spooked by a loud knocking at the door.

"Hey, Ken it's open the door!!"

He let out a small sigh of relief and opened the door revealing a blonde-haired kid around his age standing at the door with his hands on his knees panting heavily as he looked up at his friend almost ready to pass out.

"KEN guess what, guess what?! I saw something weird in the woods today!"

He just sighed and sat down a little frustrated, That was Nuffink, he was Ken's best and only friend but sometimes he got a little tired and frustrated at his antics. He seemed to ALWAYS find something "weird" in the woods every day and every time they look it turns out to be a bird or something else.

"Oh no I'm not falling for that again, every time we go out there we end up just finding some stupid bird or animal."

Nuffink shook his head and placed his hands on Ken's shoulder

"No, but this time I reeeeeaelllyyy some something with my own eyes, if it is just some random animal I promise to make it up to you just please come with me!!!!"

Ken covered his ears as they were yelling at this point putting both hands on his lips and just sighing, he had nothing else to really do that day anyways but sit in the house so he just shrugged.

"OK OK!, but if there's nothing there then you owe me big time..."

Nuffink grinned from ear to ear as he dragged Ken outside and towards the forest like he did almost every day with little to no-fail but he put up with him because he was the only person who put up with himself.

"Alright, where this "weird thing" you saw huh?"

He looked around in panic not being able to see the giant thing he saw before sighing and looking toward Ken with a nervous "I should go do that favor now" kind of face

Ken slowly nodded and pointed him to make it up to him, with a defeated sigh he walked back to his house to think of something to make up for yet again wasting his time.

The young boy sat on a nearby rock looking through the woods a little frustrated at his friend's antics but somehow still dealt with them every day, the cold winter air was gently flowing through his grey hair but then he heard something strange.

It was quiet and vague but he could hear what sounds like...screaming? It was loud enough to pique his curiosity walking towards the increasing sounds but the closer he got the more nervous he became.

Deep within the forest, the sound was now ear-piercing sounding more like a roar than a scream, Ken peeked behind a tree and froze with fear and shock.

There were dragons....real life dragons fighting with each other, one was pitch black like the night with teeth glimmering in the shadows, the other one was also black but also had patches of white spots on their stomach, paws and nose.

Ken was absolutely petrified, for his entire life he didn't belive in the creatures known as dragons but here they were right in front of him, in a more docile situation he would have been excited to meet one but he decided otherwise.

The two dragons tore at each other's throats absolutely ripping each other when suddenly someone came out of the shadow, he looked like a boy about 2-3 years older than him and he blew a whistle and the jet black dragon came running to his side and sitting down obediently.

The boy stroked the dragon's head smiling a little but then he then shot a look at Ken and gave an even smirk, Ken felt a wave of fear come over him as the boy snapped his fingers and within seconds the dragon pinned down Ken.

His entire body shook in fear looking up at the gigantic beast, Blood dripping onto his face causing him to have a mini panic attack with small tears filling his eyes and shutting them tightly and accepting his fate.

The boy walks over to Ken and looks into his eyes and just sighs snapping his fingers once again and the dragon was no longer in his face but the boy was and in a hushed tone he spoke

"If you ever tell anyone what you saw today.....I will send my dragon after you"

He hopped onto the black beast and glared at Ken before flying off, It took Ken a good 5 minutes of sitting there before getting up and looking around, the boy and the dragon were gone but the black and white dragon was just staring at him.

Ken looked into her crystal blue eyes and he felt somehow....drawn to them but he was too afriad to stay there any longer.

The stared at the boy as ran away and let out a sad warble,  even though he was a complete stranger she was for some reason pretty comfabtle around him but she shook those thoughts staring into the forest.
