Tk looked at the apartment complex and adjusted his bag. It was a pretty building, but it wwas huge. Though alot of the buildings in L.A. were huge and this one couldn't compare.

"So, have you thought about where we're going to work yet?" He asked his father.

"Yep. And I've already got us a department. Firehouse 118. We start tommorow, so be ready."

Tommorow? Tk thight, Thats so soon. No time to even get used to the place-

But on the other hand, meeting the locals was important as well. He walked into the building and made his way to their new apartment.

When he got inside, he found himself looking around. It was a nice place, and  it was spacious. There were two bedrooms and Tk found himself wandering into the one with a balcony outside and he went out to it, setting his bag on the floor.

He walked onto the balcony and took in a breath of fresh air. The view from here was beautiful. It was amazing. He found himself staring at the horizon when his dad stepped into the room, "so I take it this is the room you want?"

He turned to face his dad, "yea. I like the view from here."

"Alright."

"When are we getting furniture?" The thought had just occured to him, seeing as the place wasn't furnished they'd need furniture soon, or atleast something to sleep on before nightfall.

"We can worry about that later in the week, for now we can head to a Wal-mart and get air matresses for the time being."

"Ok, but can we unpack first?"

"Yea." And with that, Owen walked into the main room of the apartment and then out into the hall. Tk followed behind him and they went out to the car, grabbing boxes and bags and then wallking them back to the apartment until they had gotten everything out of the car. Then they focused on putting things away. They hung up their clothes, shelved their books, put up their wall decor and so on until there was nothing left to but away.

Tk looked around and sighed. He was proud of the way his room looked even though it was now dark outside and he's changed his mind about how he wanted to set up his room multiple different times so in the end he spent hours working on it. But it was nice.

They went and got the air matrasses and came home and went to bed.

Tk stood up and stretched, looking out the window at the busy city morning. "Jeez the traffic here is almost as bad as in New York." He yawned and grabbed some clothes.

"Yea, its pretty bad so we've gotta get going soon. Get dressed and then c'mon."

He shook his head and slid a hoodie on, afterwards he slid on some sweatpants and walked out into the apartment.

"Alright, lets go." Owen said, getting the keys to the car.

Tk said nothing, just followed behind him. "Do we even know amything about the people at this firehouse?"

"I know the captain's name. Thats it. Besides the fact its firehouse 118-"

"No shit sherlock."

So they headed to the firehouse and when they got there, they went in looking around.

"Hey, Owen and Tyler, I assume."

Owen walked to the man, offering him a hand, "And you must be Bobby?"

Bobby took his hand with a firm grip and smiled at him, "That's me. Welcome to the 118, we're glad to have you."

"Glad to be here."

When Bobby let go, he reached for Tk's hand and Tk took it, with a firm grip, clearing his throat.

"My name is Tyler, but I actually go by Tk, if you don't mind, that is-"

"Of course, I'll keep that in mind, and let me go gather up the restbof the 118 while you two get your uniforms on." He gestured in the direction of the locker room.

"Alright, thanks."

Owen and Tk walked to the locker room while Bobby walked upstairs.

Once they finished changing the two walked out of the locker room and waited outside the door.

"...then that just leaves Buck, who is more likely than not in the fitness area," Bobby was saying walking downstairs with two people trailing behind him.

"I'll go get him."

Bobby walked back to Owen and Tk and  gestured to the man standing beside him. "This is Howard Han, but we all just call him Chimney. Chimney this is Tk," he gestured to him, "and Owen," another gesture.

Chimney reached out a hand, shaking their hands with a firm grip. "Welcome the the 118."

"Now we wait for the other two."

It wasn't but a matter of seconds and the woman who'd left came back with a man trailing behind her.

"This is Henrietta Wilson, we call her Hen. Hen this is Tk and Owen." He said gesturing to them once again.

"Hiya, I hope you guys feel at home here." She reached out, shaking their hands.

"And that," Bobby said gesturing behind Tk, "is Evan Buckley but-"

"Buck. I-I go by Buck." He reached a hand out, first to Tk and he took his hand shaking it while he looked at the man in awe. He noticed that he was extremely attractive, even with the sweat beading his forehead and his messy hair. It made Tk wonder what he looked like when he hadn't just finished working out.

Tk cleared his throat and shook his head lightly, letting go of his hand. Buck moved his hand, now shaking Owen's hand.

"Welcome to the 118 boys. Now, why don't we go and have breakfast." Bobby led the group upstairs.

Buck walked beside Tk and Tk found himself wondering why, but said nothing aloud. "You're going to love it here. We're more than just a team, we're a family, and there's nothing stronger than family."

Tk glanced his dad with the slightest smile and then looked back to Buck, "yea. There's nothing stronger."

"So, what brings you guys to California?"

"We needed a change of scenery. Things in New york were just- becoming too much. It got overwhelming."

Buck looked unsure about what this meant but didn't question it aloud, "well, I can't speak for anyone else but I'm glad you're here. Its been lonely since Eddie left and I'm just glad to have someone new around."

And he meant it, not only did Eddie leave the 118, he left before Buck got the chance to tell Eddie how he felt. And it wasn't as if the only time they ever saw each other was at work, but Eddie had gotten himself a boyfriend, which left Buck alone with his feelings.

"I don't have any idea who that is, but I'm sorry. And I can't really say I relate because not only did I work with my dad as my captain, but I worked in the same firehouse as my ex-boyfriend, so at the time, I never really felt lonely."

"Well- my captain isn't my dad. But he may as well be. My parents couldn't care less about me and Bobby has basically became my father figure."

"Hey, you two done with the life stirues over there? Everybody is ready to eat, you know."

"Sorry Hen, we're coming." Buck rolled his eyes playfully and went to the table.

"So- is it like assigned seats or-?"

"No, just sit where you want, though we do tend to sit in the same seat every day."

Tk took the seat next to Buck and Owen took the seat next to Tk.

Bobby passed out drinks and plates of food and Owen looked at the surrounding people and firehouse, "maybe we're in the right place afterall."

Tk nodded.
