Melody Miller had walked to the bus stop herself, then realized that it was Sunday, so there was no school, "Well, shoot." she said as she began to walk back to her home. Melody heard quick footsteps coming towards her, she turned around, hearing a boy speak. "Yo! Uhm, I'm Ki, what's your name?" Melody responded, "Uhm, I'm Melody?" She continued to walk but heard the strange boy following her. "If you want, we could hang out sometime. Do we go to the same school? South Park Middle?" Ki had said, Melody looked at him and said, "Mhm, why you ask?" Ki then looked at her with a strange expression "Do you have Sunday school or something?" Melody replied by shaking her head as if you say no, "Oh, that's good. The bus for there just left." he said while pointing behind her, Melody just stared at him and continued to walk home. "Of course, I did. I'm not even going to Sunday school." Ki was walking home too, now. When Melody arrived home, she opened the door and her mom greeted her, "Hey, baby! How was school?" She asked. Melody looked at her with an annoyed look. "School is tomorrow, not today," Melody responded while going upstairs. Melody changed into her pajamas, her mom then yelled upstairs, "Oh! I thought it was today! You see, here in the newspaper-" Melody interrupted her mother, "No, mom. That's for Sunday school!" Melody yelled, flopping onto her creaky bed. She figured she'd pass time by listening to music, so she grabbed her phone and began to listen to her playlist on shuffle. The song that was playing was 'No surprises' by Radiohead. Radiohead made her think of her father. Melody thought of herself as pathetic for still being so attached to her father, he did die over four years ago, though. But coping with the death of a loved one, a dearly loved one, is very hard. Melody looked over to her nightstand, where a small framed photo of herself and her father sat. Melody sighed and stared out the window for the rest of the evening.
