Here at B.LOV.D, our goal is to ultimately glorify our wonderful Father God. In essence, all that we do here at B.LOV.D is Jesus-centered and God-inspired. He is the author and finisher of our faith, the begining and the end and we believe that our lives should reflect his mighty love and power.
» The Beginning «
As they say, Rome was not built in a day, and neither was B.LOV.D. I feel like God had been brewing this in my heart for a while, it just took my action to make it happen. And it all started one night, after a long, exhausting day, as I was taking a shower. I know! Such an odd place! But I felt a stirring of action, inspiration, and creativity. I wanted to start something important and make my life point all to God. I wanted to help others grow in their relationship with God at the same time that I was. I was already doing this in small amounts with my writing, but this idea struck me as something I couldn't ignore!
That night, I took one of my old Wattpad accounts that I never used, and converted it all to B.LOV.D. Of course, it was nowhere near being set up completely, but I was dedicated to getting it that way. The next day, I sent out a message to one of my Wattpad besties (Faith), seeing if she wanted to help with it. And then we invited Grace and Sam, making the admins official!
B.LOV.D is definitely still finding its feet, but I'm so excited to expand this community and help others know our amazing Father!
» Why The Name B.LOV.D? «
It honestly took me a little while to come up with a memorable yet interesting name for this community but when I thought of the word "beloved" I really felt it fit. And, of course, to make it more interesting I replaced the Es with periods :D
I also thought that this all caps title would set a great acronym!
B - Belong : In our community, I want everyone to feel like they belong. Acceptance is key to relationship which ultimately paves the way for honesty and openness! While everyone might not have the same views, no one will be judged or harassed.
L - Love : Of course I had to make L love! Love is a key concept laced all throughout the Bible and is mentioned over 700 times in some translations! And Jesus' two biggest commands were: Love God, love others. Love is so important!
O - Opportunity/Outreach : The B.LOV.D Community is a great opportunity to lead others to the salvation of Christ! We want this community to be a safe haven for Christians, but also an outreach to those who are lost.
V - Value : Everyone has value! God shaped and formed us with a purpose and plan. We want everyone to know just how valued they are and to use our community to help them find God's purpose for their lives.
D - Drive : As Christians, our number one job is to go unto all the world and preach the gospel! We can't do this without the drive and passion to help others find Jesus. Here at B.LOV.D, we will help Christians learn to find passion in their relationship with God so they can spread the gospel.
» Our Goals «
With B.LOV.D we have fairly broad goals: help others and glorify God! But we also have smaller goals to help us accomplish this.
1 - Encourage others. Encouragement is such an important tool when it comes to connection. In our modern culture, self love is stressed but still not taught. Many people have horrible self images which translate into everything they do. I can speak from personal experience that when your self image gets bad enough, even other people start to see it. That is why encouragement is crucial! When we see that others value us despite the bad we see in ourselves, it slowly chips away at the deprecating thoughts that plague our minds. Even if at first you don't believe it, it sparks hope that can slowly clear away the lies. The truth of the matter is that God made you exactly who you need to be for the plan that he has for you! Your qualities are special and important. And when we realize this, we see how speaking life to others could change their life completely.
2 - Find truth. The world is full of lies. It is a fact that we can't ignore, especially as Christians. We know the truth but there are millions of people out there who are deceived. Finding, knowing, and spreading the truth of the Bible is one of the most important things that any Christian can do. When we see someone who is lost in the dark, leading them to the light with the truths that we know can change their eternal destiny.
3 - Form relationships. While I want this community to grow and spread to as many people as possible, that does not mean that I want it to be impersonal. With the opportunity that comes from social media these days, our goal is to form meaningful relationships with people so we can effectively reach out to them and bless them! Not only do our admin want to get to know you, we would love it if you would reach out to others in or out of this community and get to know them. The memories and blessings from a healthy relationship never fade.
