I was caught in with the morning rush hour. The blaring of the car horns and rush of cars were making my head ache even worse. I tried to focus my eyes on the road but they kept blurring. Suddenly a sharp pain shot in my head and I yelled out in surprise and pain. And in that one second I had lost focus on the road. My hands rushed to grab hold of my head and I had forgotten I was in a car. It had lost control. But I was already slipping into unconsciousness. I was already almost out before I heard a smash and felt myself lurch forward. I was completely engulfed in darkness...
I woke up to voices and a blaring light as someone held my eye open and flashed a light.
"Ow. What the f-ck. Get off!" I pushed the person away. I sat up and rubbed my eyes before looking up at the idiot who was blinding me.
It was a doctor. Wait? What the f-ck? I frowned as I tried to remember what happened. Pain shot in my head. Ow sh-t. Thinking hurt. I grabbed my head and let out a groan. A nurse bought some pills and a glass of water to me. I took it and swallowed it down before drinking the water and handing the empty glass to the nurse, who took it and walked out, before resting back.
"How long have I been out?" I asked.
"Not long. The crash happened about half an hour ago. Now, your blood tells me you weren't drunk or under the influence of any drugs apart from tobacco and police say you weren't speeding and the roads were clear so you didn't slip. Your crash was actually pretty mild and the most you have is a bit of a whiplash and no one else was hurt. What do you remember?" He said whilst analyzing me.
"Got excluded for a week, driving home... Oh and a really bad headache before I blacked out." I told him whilst he man-handled my face. I moved my head back, giving him a warning look.
"Those wounds on your face aren't from the crash, they're older." He stated.
I rolled my eyes."No sh-t, Sherlock."
He frowned. "How did you get them?"
I sighed "I tripped on a b-stard shoe that was left lying for f-ck knows what at the top of the stairs and tumbled down. Busted my lip at the edge of a stair and hit the side of my head on the concrete flooring." I said pointing to my lip then at the big bump on the side of my head. He began inspecting it and then flashing the light in my eyes again. I growled. He leaned back.
"When did this happen?" He asked whilst writing something down. "Last night." I replied, the lie rolling off my tongue like the one before and many before them. It was a talent, lying. No one ever suspected it. It wasn't something I was proud of, though.
He nodded. "You have a mild concussion. That explains the headache and your crash. Although I don't believe you fell down the stairs." He said, his eyes narrowing as he studied me.
I grew rigid. "I fell down the stairs." I said in a monotone voice.
His eyes and voice softened. "There's a handprint on your face." He said quietly.
I gritted my teeth as I growled again. "I fell down the stairs."
He let out a sigh and opened his mouth to speak but he never got to say anything.
He never got to say anything because the door burst open and in walked none other than daddy dearest with frantic eyes.
"Sir! I told you that only family can visit right now." The nurse panted like she was running a marathon.
"And i told you, I'm her father!" He shouted as his eyes focused on me and roamed around my body and face to see the damage. The doctor and nurse looked at him in a funny way, as if he lost the plot and I scoffed. "Yeah, sure thing Sparky."
I shook my head and hopped off the bed. The doctor handed me the prescription sheet and I walked out with him trailing behind.
I walked to the pharmacist attached and grabbed my medication before paying and walking out. I remembered I didn't have my truck and froze.
"It's over there. Just a dent on the front. Its a strong car. I'll fix it up at home for you." He said, pointing on the side. I let out a breath of relief before breathing a "thanks" and running to it.
Before I could get in though, he dragged me out and hopped into the drivers side. I glared at him. "Concussion, remember. Sorry but I am not letting you kill me." He gave me an annoying grin and I slumped my shoulders before hopping into the passengers seat and driving off out of there.
