"How wa your last day?" Orochimaru asked as he, Yuki, who was holding Mei and Shiro, stood at the village gate leading out of the Hidden Frost village.
The sun had freshly risen from the horizon; the sky was blue with birds singing as they began to wake up for the day.
"Oh, it was good," She answered, adjusting her pouch that all her important belongings sealed into a scroll and her extra ninja tools."We had a nice lunch and dinner and talked about stuff. My uncle also got my brother a going-away present and me. I see that you seem to have gotten better having a day to alone in the house to rest."
"Yeah, I feel sssomewhat better now," He replied, sounding less congested."Trough I be better once out of all of this cold weather," Orochimaru replied, clearing his throat.
"Yes, of course," She replied, looking behind her at the view of the village she was leaving behind.
"You must love them a lot, don't you," Orochimaru pointed out.
"Of course," She quickly averted her gaze away from the village and at the snowy trees ahead of her as she felt her cheeks burning, feeling Orichimaru's gaze on her."Since my parents died, my uncle's family has taken care of me like I was their child. I will always appreciate them for that. My only blood-related family after my aunt died as well. Everyone else is just a member of the clan with no actual blood family to me..."
Shiro listens to his older sister closely as she and Orochimaru talk.
"You miss them already, don't you? And we haven't even left yet," Orochimaru smirked, and Yuki frowned at his expression. Before she could voice out her displeasure at the smirk. Orochimaru, however, spoke. "Bonds like that with your family must be a lovely thing. I'm sure no matter where you are on, you always will think of each," He stated with a faint tone.
Yuki stared at the genuine smile on Orochimaru's face, but she could tell from his eyes he was hiding another emotion deep inside of him. She gently placed a hand on his shoulder, giving him a smile as a way to comfort of. What was bothering him?
"Your right about that. You definitely have a way with words."
"Alright, that's enough talking. We're leaving now," Orochimaru announced, moving Yuki's hand off his shoulder as he nodded in the direction outside of the gate toward where they needed to go.
He then started walking off with Yuki behind him as Shiro walked to her side. As she spoke on up, looking at her little brother.
"Shiro, stay close to me," Yuki said.
"This trip will take almost two weeks to return to the Land of Fire. So for the sake of the baby and young Genin. We will stop in a few towns on the way when we need to rest, or it starts to get late," Orochimaru explained.
'That sounds like a long journey. I hope Shiro and Mei can handle this. More importantly, I hope I made the right decision to leave the Hidden Frost village, especially with the talk of the possibility of a second great ninja war going to happen, but it should be fine; my town is one of the allies of the Leaf along with the Uzushiogakure village.' Yuki thought with concern as she looked at her little brother and then her cousin.
"So, do you know which towns are on the path to the Land of Fire. It's been a while since I been out on a mission," Yuki commented."Well yeah, of course. How else do you think I got to the Hidden Frost village?" Orochimaru questioned, looking back at Yuki as he continued walking forward.
"Wait, so did you just get here to the village?" She asked.
"Yeah," He replied swiftly, and Yuki looked at him curiously.
'If that was the case, why is he in such a hurry to get back like he was behind schedule? He only just finished his mission.'
They were getting farther away from the village, as memories started to flow through her mind and nostalgia fluttered in her heart at the thought of leaving the place she had lived in for sixteen years since she was born. She smiled as she reminisced about the extraordinary times she had with her parents, the times she helped her aunt-in-law at the hospitals and her old friends from when she was in the academy. She was happy about the great times she had in the village.
And with those memories, she was preparing herself, ready to take on the village of her new hope with the knowledge she had and a chance to find true happiness.
Once they were far away from the village, she looked back one more. However, she never stopped walking as Shiro stood close to her side as she told him to. There was no time to spare. We had to get to the Leaf and register to be a shinboi over there. I was itching to start over, and door once thought about my own goals and values. However, to do that, I needed to see the Hokage and register to live there, and she needed some safety exam to prove she won't be a threat. However, Orochimaru didn't confirm with her if the Hokage wanted an exam for Shiro as well since he sent a message to him two days before they set off to leave. Luna, one of his messagers snake who does okay in the cold, was sent to deliver the message, but no information on his Shiro conditions to register were received.
Yuki smiled at her little brother, placing a hand on his shoulder while shifting Mei to her other arm before she focused his attention back on the road ahead of her.
