The sun shined brightly through my curtain in my room, waking me up from my sleep. I groaned as I sat up and looked around. My old childhood room, even though I've been here for about a month, it still hasn't changed much. I sighed and shook my head, allowing my hair to fall onto my shoulders. I was about to get out of bed when I looked down and saw my little Eevee laying on my lap, still asleep. I chuckled and gently nudged her. "Hey little girl, it's time to get up. We're gonna miss Leon's exhibition match with Raihan," I said.
He eyes fluttered open and she yawned. I chuckled again and picked her up as I climbed out of my bed. She curled up into my arms, trying to fall back asleep again. "If you fall back asleep, you won't be able to eat," I said. Her eyes shot open and she picked her head up. "Eevee!" She cried. I rolled my eyes and put her down by her bowl. She stared at me as I grabbed her food and poured it into the bowl. She immediately started downing her food. "Arceus, you'd think I was starving you," I said as I put the food bag back.
I turned around and walked to my closet. I grabbed clothes out and smiled at the clothes. It was simple but comfortable enough for me. A dark grey torn shirt, black jeans, and a black jacket. I quickly changed clothes and slipped my brown boots on afterwards. "Come on Eve, let's go downstairs," I said, patting the side of my leg. She looked up from her bowl and bounced towards me, following me out of my room and down the stairs.
As soon as I hit the bottom of the stairs, I was met with a burnt smell. I ran to the kitchen to see mom throwing food away, trying to hide it from me. "If you wanted to hide the fact that you still can't cook, you could really make sure there isn't a smell," I said with a sigh. She turned to face me and smiled. "I just thought I'd try," she said. I rolled my eyes and shook my head. "Please, for our sake and the neighbors' please don't anymore," I said.
I walked out of the kitchen and straight to the living room. Before I could sit down, I heard scratching on the back door. "Mom, did you feed the others yet?!" I called out. "No, I haven't yet!" She called back. I sighed and went straight to the backyard. As soon as I opened the door, I was greeted with my Zoroark holding a bowl and looking annoyed. "I know boy, I know," I said, "I thought she would've fed you guys by now but I guess not." I took the bowl from him and patted his head, getting a nudge in return. He followed me to the food bin and took the bowl as soon as I was done filling it up for him. I smiled softly as I watched him walk away happily and I started to fill the other bowls.
After a bit, everyone had their breakfast and seemed to be happy now. I went back inside and laid on the couch, Eevee jumping onto my chest to lay down. "Alright, let's watch the match from last night now," I said. I pulled out my phone and started to watch it. Though, I was soon interrupted by a certain little brother related to Leon. "Luna! Why are you just laying on the couch?! Leon comes home today!" Hop exclaimed excitedly. I sighed and glanced up at him from my phone. "Because I was watching his exhibition match with Raihan," I said.
Hop smiled brightly and took my phone right out of my hand. "You can watch it later, besides you know I have all of them recorded," he said, "now if you want your phone, then let's go!" I sighed and sat up, knocking Eevee to my lap. "Fiiinnneee," I complained, "let me just get my bag." Before I could get up, my bag was thrown on the couch. "Already got it for you," he said.
I groaned and got off the couch, throwing my bag over my shoulders in the process. I held my hand out and Eevee climbed up my arm and up my shoulder where she sat. Hop smiled up at me and I smiled softly back. "Okay, let's go kid," I said, ruffling the top of his head. He cheered and we walked out of the house. "I'll see you later Lunabelle," my mom called from the kitchen. I cringed at the name and shook my head. "Later," I called back.
Once the door was shut, Hop looked up at me with furrowed eyebrows. "You still have a rocky relationship with her?" He asked. I nodded my head as we walked. "Considering the fact that she decided one day while I was a baby that she no longer wanted me, yeah. Remember, I grew up being raised by my aunt and uncle and once my aunt died, I moved to Sinnoh with my grandmother," I said, "then all of a sudden I decide to move back here and she suddenly appears out of no where." He just hummed and I sighed. "I'm sorry for going on like that, it just annoys me so much with her acting like this," I mumbled, "just wish she could see the damage she did instead of thinking everything is fine."
Hop patted my back and smiled up at me. I was only slightly taller than him, not by much though. "I know what will cheer you up," he said, "seeing Leon finally!" I chuckled and rolled my eyes playfully. "That's even if I'm not too nervous to go," I said. He laughed as we walked inside his house. "Mom! Is he here yet?!" Hop asked as soon as the door shut behind us. He ran into the kitchen, with me following behind. He started looking through the cabinets, which caused me and his mom to chuckle. "Hop, even if he was here, I doubt he'd be able to fit into the cabinets," his mom said. "Yeah, he's a bit too big for that, mate," I said.
Hop stood up straight and huffed. "He needs to hurry up and get here!" He exclaimed. "Well he should be here soon, why don't you two go meet him at the station?" His mom suggested. Hop's eyes lit up and he nodded his head excitedly. "Come on Luna! Let's go!" He said, grabbing my arm and dragging me with him. "Hop, calm down! You're gonna pull my shoulder out of its socket!" I yelled as we went outside. He laughed and smiled back at me.
"We need to hurry, the train should be here soon," he said. I sighed and smiled softly at him. "Okay, okay, but let me go first," I said. He let me go and I rubbed where he held my arm. "Damn, how did you get such a grip?" I asked. He shrugged as we walked out of his yard and onto the road. "I wanna be just like Leon so I'm trying to do everything just like him, even how hard he grips things," he replied. I nodded my head and Eevee rubbed her head against my cheek, wanting attention.
I chuckled and scratched under her chin. "Hey girly, are you nervous too?" I asked. "She's never seen Leon so why would she be nervous?" Hop asked. I gasped silently and looked down at him. "I was gifted Eevee by Xerneas back in Kalos. She can sense and feel everything I'm feeling and I can sense everything she says," I said, "it's really weird." He nodded his head and smiled up at us. "Well you two shouldn't be nervous, it'll be fine," he said.
I just hummed and nodded my head. "I sure hope so Hop," I replied back. The rest of the walk was me listening to Hop go on and on about different things. By the time we reached the station, he was going on about the Gym Challenge. "Are you gonna join?" He asked me. I thought about it for a moment and shrugged. "Sure, I don't see why not," I said, "besides, it'll fun to knock your brother off his pedestal." Hop laughed while I smiled. As soon as the station came into view, we both stopped and looked at the crowd in front of us.
"I'm guessing he's here now," I said. Hope agreed and we walked forward a bit. "Hello, hello, Wedghurst! Your champion, Leon, is back! I promise I'll keep doing my best to delivery the best battles for you all to watch!" We heard him say. We were able to peek through the crowd as he did his pose and I stifled a small laugh. "Why is he like this?" I whispered to Hop. Hop chuckled and smiled more at me. "It's a front that people expect," he said, "after all, he is undefeated since he was ten." I nodded my head and continued to watch Leon.
As he talked with the people of Wedgehurst, Charizard noticed us and waddled over to us. "Hey Charizard," Hop said, waving at his brothers Pokémon. I waved at the fire type and the Pokémon nudged me. "Hey buddy, it's been a while, hasn't it?" I asked, "I haven't seen you since you were a Charmander." He snorted and I ran my hand down his neck. "Eevee!" My Eevee cried. I chuckled and scratched under her neck. "Okay, okay, jealous," I said softly. "Hop! So my number-one can in all the world has come out of his way to come pick me up!" Leon exclaimed as he ran towards us.
"I'm not the only one who came," Hop said. I watched as Leon furrowed his eyebrows in confusion and looked around. "I don't see anyone else, who came with you?" Leon asked. I chuckled and stepped out from by Charizard. "I did," I said. Leon looked at me while his eyes widened and lit up. "Luna!" He yelled. He ran over to me and picked me up, spinning us around in the process. I giggled and hit him lightly. "Okay, okay, put me down now before you make me dizzy," I said. He put my down and Eevee came out from the hood of my jacket. "Eevee," she whined.
I rolled my eyes and scratched her chin, cheering her up. "You're fine, you drama Queen," I said. She lightly glared at me, but it melted away once Leon started petting her. "How long have you been back?" He asked. "About a month," I said, "in my defense we expected you to come home a lot sooner than now." He chuckled and I scratched the back of my neck nervously. He made me nervous, like if I screw up, he'll hate me. "We should head home now," Hop said, "moms waiting for us!" We looked at him and nodded our heads.
Leon then turned and faced the crowd with a smile. "Well, everyone! I bid you farewell for today! But don't you fret.... I'll always be around to make sure everyone in Galar can have a champion time!" He announced to them. They all cheered and clapped for him. He was a beloved champion after all. Honestly, I think he's been the most beloved out of all the ones we've had. "Alright you two, let's get home," Leon said as he turned back around. "I'll race you!" Hop said. They both laughed and took off running.
I sighed and shook my head. "Do they ever slow down?" I asked Charizard. He huffed and I took that as a no. "Alright, let's get back," I said. With that, we took off towards their house as well.

Ahhhhh, finally! I'm finally back with the brand new rewrite! I'm so sorry it took so long, I work six days out of the week so I never really have time to just sit down and write like I want to. But with me switching jobs, I'll hopefully have more time.
I do hope y'all enjoy the new rewrite of the story, similar plot to the last one, just wrote better and with less plot holes. Anywho, without further ado, welcome back to Her Home Song!
