The plains look so foggy on this beautiful Saturday morning. The sweet smell of Grandma's palm fronds burning to ashes on this cold morning in this rainy season. The new born baby is shivering just trying to get a message to mummy that "I am feeling cold,I need some warmth"
"This are the ways of our ancestors, my dear child" mother says to herself.
We only have to learn from them and be better. For indeed, they thought about us. They never spent a night not trying to imagine what the future holds for us, their progenies."In this cold, my dear child, our ancestors went to the farms to get us food to eat, they went to that horrid and tumultuous sea to bring fish for the family, they built castles and forts for the white man because they viewed him as a neighbor and no less of a human being. Oh our ancestors, what manner of kindness you felt in your heart let us also as your descendants be able to share.
Your warmth, care and fellow human feeling is what is gravely missing in our world today,we have today become our own slave masters. As through wise discussion and counsel, you gathered so many years ago (a very long time ago) that "when kings lose direction, they become servants". That statement oh great ancestors still holds relevance today. My poor child, you have been born into this land that was once ruled by good men with dignity, which has now been turned into a delusional casino, a failed imitation of the grand Monte Carlo.
But the drum that beats at night can still be heard, the whispers of the birds continue to carry messages from our forebears to us, the horns that blow so loud can be heard from very high mountains and hilltops, which summon us to meet together under the umbrella of our great and wise king.
The day of victory awaits my dear child, when your home, our home will be home again. That day when you will look at your brother and sister and give them both a brotherly hug. Where they will cling to you and say with tears in their eyes "After all this struggle,we have survived."
Hey, but until then get a grip of yourself.
