I'm home packing bag when I hear my mom coming up the stairs and slowly creep into my doorway.
"Honey! I thought I heard you get home." She says, looking like she just woke up from a nap.
"I'm going to a sleepover tonight with Val." I quickly reply.
"I'm glad to see you're making more friends. You need to live your life. Maybe get a boyfriend. Or a girlfriend. I'm not picky." She laughs.
"MOM!" I yell playfully as I throw a pillow at her.
My mom may be nosey, but she's really cool. She has her days like any mom, but at least she's okay with me being who I am.
"Avery! Come on loser! Let's go!" I hear Val yell from downstairs.
"I'm coming down!" I yell, thankful that shes saving me from this intrusive conversation. I grab my bag and head out the door.
