Isolation

Although this may sound weird for a seventeen year old girl, I love old things. From old music and books to old antiques and clothes, I live for it. This does however make it harder to make friends. It's high school in the twenty first century. All of my peers are obsessed with social media and modern music. A smart phone to them is like a tank of oxygen. Of course, I'm not saying I don't have one. I just have only have one for the purpose of listening to music and to communicate with family that lives a distance away.

I get made fun of quite a lot for my outdated clothing and my isolation from others in the cafeteria. It doesn't really bother me though. My grades are well enough for me to be able to attend my dream school next year... Yale. This isn't to sound judge mental, but everyone else my age, other than a few, will be attending or a community college. I refuse to still be eating at the same four fast food restaurants or reading in the same kiddie park a year or even four years from now. I chose a different path. Ivy walls.
