Quite a few words or phrases are used in multiple languages. Here's a place to clarify meanings. Listed by chapter and in order of appearance, words used more than once will only be defined when first seen. Notes about historical figures, places, events, and anecdotes will also be added to the chapters as well just for some fun. This will be updated as chapters are added.
I don't claim to be a expert on Roman history, but a lot of the facts that seem kinda weird are true and I picked up when I read Livia's biography (which I recommend if you're into cool women in history) It's called Livia: First Lady of Imperial Rome (I got my secondhand, but it's pretty easy to find) and it touched on a lot of themes and people during her lifetime. My favorite fact is the one about the hat.
Hope this helps and you enjoy!!
