Frostina was quietly reading a book at the table. John pulled up a chair and sat next to her.
"So..I've got a question for you." John said.
"This might be a weird thing to ask, but do you have any parents or siblings?"Frostina put down her book and frowned.
"No, my parents are long gone." She said. "My siblings are too. I had two older brothers and one little sister."
John started to feel bad for her.
"Oh, that really sucks." John said. "It's probably not nice of me to ask, but how did they past?"
Frostina sighed. "It's fine to tell you." She said. "This house, right here, me and my siblings lived here when we were young. One day, tragedy struck when someone broke into the house. My two older brothers tried to protect me, but they ended up getting attacked by a knife. After that, I went to go protect my little sister, but it was a failure. They got her too, and I ran out as fast as I could."
So that's why there were extra beds in John's room. Those used to her siblings' beds.
"Turns out, someone next door had called the police. They came in, and reported three deceased bodies." Frostina continued. "The person was caught, and I slowly walked back to the house after it had been cleared and all."
John felt sad for her.
"You're living in the same house where your siblings were killed?" John said. "Doesn't that get depressing sometimes?"
Frostina nodded. "It sure does," she said. "But it's better now since you're here, John. And your little brother."
John smiled.
"Guess we cured your loneliness, hm?" He said.
Frostina laughed softly.
"Guess you did." She said.
John's smile had turned into a frown. He slightly rubbed her shoulder, and looked her in the eyes.
"I'm sorry you had to go through that. Especially at such a young age. Nobody should have to experience losing someone right in front of their eyes." He said. "It's upsetting that people just kill others for no reason."
Frostina smiled, and grabbed his hand that was on her shoulder.
"It's fine, John." She said. "Let's stop making this upsetting. Do you want to go take a walk or something?"
John blushed at the fact that her hand touched his and nodded.
"Sure. That sounds great." He said. "But what should we do about Oliver?"
Frostina grinned.
"He'll stay here with someone I know." She said, and pulled out a phone.
John had no idea she had a phone. He didn't even know if phones existed in this place. But he also didn't know that Frostina knew other people.
"And who might that be?" John asked.
Suddenly there was loud banging on the door, and Frostina went to go open it.
In front of the door, there was a boy with bright yellow hair and eyes.
"About time you opened the door, Frostina!!" The boy said, and walked in. "Who is this man?!" He pointed to John.
"Oh, that's uh, a friend." Frostina said. "Listen, Alexander, I need you to babysit for me."
So the little boy's name is Alexander..how is a little boy going to babysit? John thought in his head.
Alexander's eyes widened.
"BABYSIT?! FROSTINA?!" He yelled. "THAT MEANS YOU...DID YOU..?"
Frostina punched him on the head and Alexander yelped in pain.
"OOUCHHH!! What was that for huh?!" He yelled.
"It was for your stupidity." Frostina said. "Babysit John's little brother."
Alexander folded his arms.
"I'm not babysitting a little brat!" He said a little too loudly. "You can forget about it!!"
"You're the brat here.." John whispered, but Alexander still heard him.
"WHAT DID YOU SAY, HUH?!" He shouted and stomped towards John.
Frostina sighed.
"Alexander, If you babysit I'll give you money." She said, and that made Alexander spin around.
"Alright, I'll do it!" He said. "I'll babysit him!! Where is he?!"
John stepped towards Frostina.
"Who's this kid?" John asked her. "And why is he so loud?"
Frostina smiled. "He's my closest friend. This may surprise you, but he has the yellow energy." She said. "And, he's not a kid. He's 17. He's just short for his age."
John's eyes widened. "Seventeen?!" He said, shocked. "Wow, and he has the yellow energy?"
Frostina nodded.
"Mhmm. Let's get going."
John turned to Alexander.
"Listen here, shorty." He said. "You better behave with my brother while I'm gone. He's a very active, energetic kid, so you better play with him."
Alexander laughed loudly.
"I do whatever I want!!" He said. "Just go, old man."
John held back his hand from punching the mess out of Alexander, but he didn't want to start a fight. He just decided to turn around.
"I'm only two years older than you." John said, and started to walk out the door.
When Frostina and John were walking, John started to think of what to say to start a conversation.
"So.. do you know any of the other people with the energys?" John asked. "Like.. the person with the green energy, the orange energy.."
Frostina nodded.
"I'm pretty close to some of them." She said.
"Have you ever visited the place you said they were at?" John asked. "I remember you saying that there was a place where all of them lived at."
Frostina stopped walking.
"Yeah, I did say that.." she said. "But I didn't go there. I only visited them when they were out of the place."
John scratched his head. "You seem so afraid of going there.." he said. "Did something happen?"
Frostina shook her head.
"No, just felt like I didn't belong there." She said.
She grasped onto her Injured arm which was healed, but had a scar.
"Maybe it's because I don't feel as strong as them." She said.
John turned to face her.
"Don't say that. You are strong enough. Don't let a little arm injury let you feel weak." He said. "You've been through so much, yet you're still here smiling."
Frostina smiled.
"You're such a kind man, John." She said. "Now, let's continue our walk."
As they were walking, they heard some rustling noises behind them.
They both slowly turned around, and saw the same man as last time.
It was Shawn.
And he was holding multiple chains too.
