02 ; room

I stuffed some more things into drawers, it was weird; I hadn't really had a room before. I grabbed my gun and put it in the back of my pants with a loose top and leather jacket over it. I walked downstairs and saw a bald man talking with who I presumed to be Mr Argent, I sheepishly walked over to the two of them and they jumped about three foot into the air when I said hi.

The older man spoke, "there aren't many people who can sneak up on me, kid. Kudos for that."

"Uh thanks. I, uh, just wanted to say hi and like thank you for letting me stay with you Mr Argent. I'm Emily by the way." I did a small wave and immediately cursed the fact that my brothers hadn't taught me any proper manners.

"It's completely fine, and you can call me Chris. This is Gerard Argent here, Allison's grandfather," the bald man held out his hand or me to shake and I shook it with a firm grip.

I awkwardly smiled to them and then left to hide in the room I had been assigned. I walked over to the window and stared out of it for a while. I wondered if my brothers had found the thing that got us out of the underworld. Would they even tell me?

The next day I woke up with only a short scream, thankful that nobody seemed to hear me I went to wash up in the shower. I looked at myself in the steamy mirror but all I saw was an empty girl, a girl without humanity. I turned my back on the reflection and got changed into a pair of tight jeans and an ACDC tee that was Dean's. It was far too big for me but I didn't give a damn and if anyone else did then that was their issue not mine.

I grabbed the leather jacket that used to be my mothers and walked down the stairs, flipping my blonde hair out of the collar. I saw Allison and her family sitting at a table eating some breakfast and I was unsure if I should join them but Victoria waved me over.

"Come sit down, Emily. I'm sure Allison and you have a lot in common, you're the same age and all," I raised an eyebrow at that, Allison was seventeen?

"You're seventeen?" I asked and she nodded.

"Right, yeah, me too. All the moving about delayed my academic career," I said dryly and she laughed quietly. I had to tell her that: I couldn't exactly say, 'yeah, I was in hell for four months, and took a year out of school because Dean and I sold our soul to save our brother, that's Sam by the way. Yeah he's my brother, not my uncle.'

"So what do your uncles do?" She asked and I stiffened slightly, Victoria nodded to me subtly and I steadied myself.

"They're FBI, my dad died on a case with them and they've took care of me ever since but it got too dangerous to have me around them so they sent me to you guys, so I could have a normal apple pie life," I told her, at least not all of it was lies.

Allison looked uncomfortable when I said I wanted a normal life, my eyebrows furrowed slightly. The way she reacted was almost as if she knew about the dangers in the world that didn't include underage drinking and terrorists. Like there was something Victoria hadn't told me. No, I had to start trusting people. She saved my father's life on numerous hunts, I could trust her. Dad had told me how she was, one of the finest hunters he had ever met. But she appeared to have given it up for mother hood.

If I had a kid would I give up the hunt? I doubted it, I didn't want children. Not in this lifetime anyway.

Allison stood up and asked if I was riding with them to school, I agreed to and got my bag. Time to see how school had changed in the past year.

School hadn't really changed, I felt the familiar stares of gawking school children on me and ignored them to find my locker. I put in the combination that I had written down but it wouldn't work. I was two seconds off shooting the damn thing, except I left my guns at home. I did bring a knife with me thought, I wasn't going anywhere without proper protection, and I wasn't talking about condoms.
