Wong flipped the piece of cloth over as the four of you stared at the charred body laying in front of you. Other Stephen's face had cuts and deep scratches made by the demon, his skin had turned a dark gray colour for the decomposition, making you wince at the sight.

"It wasn't a dream." Stephen said, "That means... dreams are windows into the lives of our Multiversal selves."

You paused as you took in his words, strangely, you never dreamt before, but it all just be a coincidence right? Maybe it wasn't connected to the girl at all.

"That was his theory." The girl said, pointing to the still body.

"So, that recurring nightmare where I'm running naked from a clown..." Wong said, making Stephen give him a weird look.

"Somewhere out there, it's real."

"Somewhere out there Stephen had a ponytail." You sneered, trying to hold in your laughter.

"There could be more creatures coming for her." Wong said, getting up onto his feet.

"The power is dangerous enough in the hands of a kid, imagine if a real threat acquired it?"

The girl took a step back away from the three of you, clearly afraid of what Stephen might do to her next.

"It occurs to me, young one, we don't know your name." Wong said, a warm smile spread across his face.

"America Chavez."

"Miss Chavez, will you come with us to Kamar-Taj? You'll be safe there."

"How do I know you won't betray me like he did?"

"I guess you're just gonna have to trust me."
Stephen replied.

"What are we going to do with him?" You asked, pointing to the dead carcass in front of them.

Stephen cleared his throat, using his magic to lift him up and bury him under a chimney, "That's gotta violate an ordinance." You scoffed.

"Well, I've buried worse."

"The creature that killed him, did it have the same markings as the octopus?" You asked Stephen, noticing the same marks.

"Runes." He replied.

"This isn't sorcery, it's witchcraft." You sighed, not believing it.

"Do you know anyone who's faced such a thing?" Wong asked him.

"I think I might..."
