andrew and rob sat on swings as the sun began to set in front of them.
"it's so beautiful..." andrew whispered, eyes wide at the scenery around him. everything felt so perfect, all at once. it was all coming together.
"it really is." rob replied, his eyes glued to andrew beside him, a lovesick smile on his face. andrew turned to him and blushed, looking back down.
"andy..." rob said, gently tilting his head back up to face him.
"yes, rob?" his heart pounded in his chest.
"i love y..."
his cheesy dream was interrupted by the sound of his alarm clock wailing. andrew blinked the sleep out of his eyes and turned his alarm off, turning back on his side and trying to find himself back in that dream.
until he realized just what he was trying to go back to. he sighed and laid on his back. "what the fuckk..." he whispered to himself, hands covering his eyes.
the tallies sat in silence while they ate their breakfast together. andrew watched rob eat, looking back down anytime the other looked over.
"i like doing this," ross said, breaking the silence, "eating breakfast together. we should do this more often."
"you can do the dishes then," said joe, a playful grin on his face.
"right..." ross shook his head. "nevermind."
the table chuckled collectively. "that reminds me," rob said, swallowing his food quickly. "everyone knows what to bring for bora's birthday tomorrow right?" the table nodded.
"thats good," he continued, "i think we're still having it at his place. if we're not it wouldn't be a big deal anyway..."
"i love birthdays," zubin commented, "whats better than celebrating life with cake and booze?"
"hell yeah!" andrew rasied his hand for a high five. zubin gave him five and smiled, now flustered. "who's the designated driver?"
the table looked around at each other before all eyes landed on ross. he sighed. "fine, but you all owe me. i hate being the designated driver. why is it always me?"
"because..." joe began, "you're the only one of us who has any self control. it won't be that bad."
"you always say that..."
they all helped clean the dishes for once and went their seperate ways. andrew was perfectly content with the idea of going back to his room for some "me-time," but ross stopped him.
"can i talk to you for a second?" he asked, grabbing andrew by the wrist and not letting him respond.
they settled themselves in ross's room. andrew always thought his room was impressively neat. and like always, it was. save for drum sticks that looked like they had no for sure home, and a hoodie andrew recognized as not ross's.
andrew was sat on his bed and looking at him expectingly, waiting for him to say something. ross continued to pace, making already neat things even neater. he finally looked like he mustered up the courage to start talking. and he did.
"is everything ok, andrew?"
the shock was apparently evident on andrew's face, as ross started to stammer. "it's okay if you dont wanna talk or anything,, i get this is sudden, but,,"
"no, i just thought this would've been about you." andrew stated. ross quietly went "oh," and smiled at him. he sat beside him on the bed.
"so... what's up? do you have anything troubling you?" ross asked. "i noticed you've been acting kind of off lately. i wanted to make sure you were okay, especially before the party tomorrow."
andrew smiled at him. "thank you. i'm... fine, yeah. is it really that noticeable?"
"i just thought you've been acting differently recently, and i wanted to make sure everything was okay."
"i'm just feeling a lot of stuff lately, i guess." he said simply.
"about rob?"
andrew almost choked. "what?"
ross started fidgeting. "sorry, i didn't mean to blurt that. i uh... woke up in the middle of the night, last night, and went to get something to eat. your door was cracked open and i heard you murmuring... i thought you were trying to get my attention and i opened your door and i heard you saying something about rob..? but you were asleep, so..."
"oh." he looked at the ground. "oh my god..." he put his head in his hands.
"what did rob do?" ross asked.
"n-nothing." he sat back up. "well... i mean, i guess he did something but not... directly, it's complicated, i don't know."
he thought about it for a second, and taking in andrew's red tinted face and now awkward demeanor, it clicked. "do you.. like rob?"
he groaned "i don't fucking know! i guess i do. but i've-"
"never felt that way about a guy?" ross finished. "yeah, i know, i get it."
andrew blinked at him. "you do?"
he reached over and grabbed the hoodie. "what do you think?" he threw it back. "anyway, i think you should tell rob."
"what? really?"
ross nodded. "yeah! i mean, why not?"
he murmured something unintelligible. ross nudged him. "what was that?"
"what if he thinks im weird?" he said louder.
ross chuckled. "i think you dreaming about him is a lot weirder than anything you could do yourself."
"i can't control my dreams." he crossed his arms.
he shrugged, "i guess so. but i think it'd be best if you just get it over with and tell rob. these feelings are gonna eat away at you if you don't." ross stood up, prompting andrew to do so too.
"i hope you get this sorted out, andy," ross said, patting him on the back. "maybe tomorrow at bora's party, you could say something?"
andrew snickered. "thats a good way to take some attention away."
ross laughed with him. "okay, get out of my room now. out."
he shoved andrew out and slammed the door. he wondered what the sudden hospitality then hostility was about. whatever the case, he headed back to his room to think about ross's words. his mind wandered out to thinking about what tomorrow will be like.
regardless of the outcome, he was excited to celebrate his friends birthday.
