One The Train ride

The morning was a brisk September day. The first to be particular. Yesterday was my birthday and I was finally able to go back to Hogwarts after the long seemingly long summer. Don't get me wrong, I loved spending time with all my muggle friends but Hogwarts had a certain charm that I missed so dearly. Besides, so does Cedric. He's another Hufflepuff around my grade. He was charming, sweet, and chivalrous, and he cared for other students even if they were in a different house. And he was pretty hot. I'll be blatantly honest, he was. We were friends since we had a few classes together last year. He was about a year older than me and I'm smart so I had a few classes with him. Not to mention we were both Hufflepuffs so I had seen him around the common room plenty. It might sound a little creepy but I loved watching him read! It was so cute!

My daydreams of Cedric were interrupted by two of my best friends Ireland the Slytherin and Araelynn my Gryffindor. We were in a train cart altogether, our diverse friend group chatting loudly amongst themselves. One Ravenclaw; Kiara two Hufflepuffs; me and Regan, two Gryffindors; Araelynn and Lia, then one Slytherin; Ireland. Regan and Kiara were talking about who knows what, Lea was sitting on her phone most likely watching some form of POVs. Ireland and Raelynn were snuggled up next to me both looking at Raelynn's phone screen pointed away from me. They had engaged in a yelling match over which Wattpad Fanfiction to read, or something like that. I don't know I wasn't really paying attention.

I turned to look out the window of the train filled with a sudden feeling of contempt. Sitting by my dearest friends, on my way to my true home. Don't get me wrong I love my family very much, but I simply don't feel like I belong there. Like I have some other purpose. Like I was meant for more. I had felt like this for quite some time, so it wasn't exactly a huge surprise when I got my letter.

The land flew by as the train chucked along. Part of me wished that the train would move faster because I couldn't wait to get there, but the other part of me was happy to sit with my friends from other houses. We all lived with the muggles and had become introduced to the Witchcraft and Wizardry side of things through a certain book series that all of the students here didn't know about. I'm not completely sure as to why they don't but I suppose some muggle found out about Harry and wrote about it. Why might the ministry let it through? Because a muggle wrote about it so everyone believed that it was just simply a fantasy book. Never imagining that this could possibly be real.

I put my ear buds in and closed my eyes imagining what Cedric was doing in his train cart. The song that started playing first was Roslyn by Bon Iver and St. Vincent. It was from the Twilight sound track but had always reminded me of Hogwarts while I was at home. I start humming along when suddenly I look up and see Raelynn and Regan slow dancing in the middle of the train cart. There wasn't a whole lot of room but leave it to those two to pull it off. Then, from Lea's phone starts playing Careless Whisper by George Micheal. The whole train car starts humming along simeltainiously. Someone lets out a whistle as Raelynn dips Regan down. Regan starts flailing around squawking at her.

"Aaah!" Regan yells flailing around ending in her being dropped on the ground.

"What the bloody hell was that for?" Raelynn calls as she laughs and helps Regan up.

" I thought you were gonna drop me!" Regan whines standing back up.

"Well looks like you did. " Ireland retorts.

Regan shoots her a look as Lea pipes up, " Noo, really? I thought she went swimming."

That gets a laugh from all of us as we settle down again. It is quiet for a good four and a half minutes before Araelynn starts singing.

"Shakira, Shakira." She hums before starting to dance.

"Never really knew that she could dance like this." I continue with the next line doing the Macarena. Regan joins in and sings the next lyrics.

"She make a man want to speak spanish." She does the Mocerana with me when Kiara interrupts Ireland singing the next lyrics,

" Hey look we're there!"
