Piper James' P.O.V

I begin to nod off as my professor goes on about how mnemonics can help improve your ability to learn, before I'm completely out though I get a text.

Hey, band practice after your class, I'll be waiting outside.
I reply with
Ok
After the brief text messaging I do actually fall asleep, and I stay that way until the class ends, the professor doesn't catch me due to the darkness that engulfs the classroom seats. The person next to me taps me to wake me up.
"Thanks" I reply as I sit up and stretch my arms.

I exit the History building I see my cousin waiting outside. Sofia Gant, she is ridiculously tall with short messy brown hair, kind hazel eyes, and a round face.
I run to her and we embrace.

"So, how's life college girl?" She asks as we begin our walk. I roll my eyes
"How can you still say that, this is my last year"

"Piper come on, I'm kidding."
I let out an exasperated sigh and keep moving. Me and Sofia reach the building within moments and head inside to greet the rest of our band mates.
If your wondering those band mates include...Holt Davenport (Drums) and Anna Chipper (Bass), I am lead guitar and Sofia is lead singer, together we are 4 Cats Deep!
The band and I practice for about two hours before we break.
————
All four of us sit in a small circle of chairs simply chatting about daily things.

"So, have you guys heard about the latest Avengers news. They saved the day...again. Yet no one was there to see it, isn't that odd." Says Holt

"Boooo"
Anna throws her chip bag at Him. He's always been skeptical about the Avengers and the X-men, which is ridiculous, they save the planet and so far their doing a good job, and obviously they exist, I mean how do you explain the giant tower in New York with an 'A' on it, or the adds for a school that teaches the enhanced. But what I've always wondered was how two super hero teams managed to, somewhat, coexist. And how they chose who battles who. I wonder if they have special meetings of all the members and they decide who gets to deal with what, that would be funny.

I'm shaken from my thoughts when the band announces break is over and we have to practice more.....
———
Two hours later the band decides that four hours is enough practice for a Friday evening and that the band members were dismissed. Me and Sofia depart together and as we walk out of the building and towards my car, she puts a hand on my shoulder and declares.

"Alright Piper, me, you, Alex, and Jack. We're gonna hit the town!-and by that I mean probably go to a cool arcade and have drinks and play games-what'd ya say!"
She says the last part with excitement.
"I guess so, I don't really have anything else to do...oh wait that-!"
Sofia puts a hand over my mouth
"Nope. We're going out, and-are you licking my hand?!"
She removes her hand and I have a triumphant smile on my face.
"That's gross." Sofia says wiping her hand on her shirt.
"If you didn't want me to lick it, then don't have out it over my mouth. You know the rules."
My cousin cracks a small smile,
"Alright you got me. Let's go, we've got to inform the cousins."

"Ok" I unlock my car and me and Sofia hops in.
————————
Later that night, me and Sofia meet up with our other two cousins Alex Stilner and Jack Butch. Alex has long dark brown hair and sticks to a regimen of wearing only gray oversized sweaters, Jack on the other hand has bright orange hair and icy blue eyes, he often only wears blue or green, and I consider myself the most fashionable out of all of them.

"So what are we doing?" Jack asks

"We're hittin the town!" Sofia cries, Jack and Alex make puzzled faces. I ease there ideas
"We're going to an arcade and getting drinks and playing games."
Jack's face immediately brightens, but Alex is more hesitant.
"It'll be fun. And I know I'm not one to normally do this, but If you agree to go I will pay for your first drink. On the house."
She thinks this over but soon agrees,
"Yay! Let's go." Says Sofia darting off in the direction of Another Castle arcade.
———
That rest of the night was great, it was spent playing pinball and space invaders (which bested all my cousins at), as well as trying fun drinks. Unfortunately, like always, I am the designated driver so I was limited on how much I could drink, but it doesn't bother me, I was never much of a drinker in the first place.

About an hour before the arcade closes my friends were ready to go home. All three of them were all a little tipsy so it was difficult loading them all into my tiny car, but I managed. On the way to there various homes/apartments, Sofa and Jack fell asleep, that just left a slightly drunk Alex awake and babbling.

"H-hey Pooper. You 'member the tile I fell out ma tree house and brokered me leg...?"
I look at her through the rear view mirror and give a small chuckle.
"Yes, you were crying and it took me about two minutes before I did anything."

"Y-yeah those w-were good times." Alex hiccups.

"What do you mean, you broke your leg?" I ask in a silly tone.
"We'll...we were there for each other, and it was funny...because you never know what's going to happen in life (hiccup) I want you t-to know...I love you cuz."

"Aw, thanks, I love you too."
Alex doses off and I drive the rest of the way in silence. I drop each of my cousin's off, but when I come to Alex's apartment, I drop her off, but then decide I'm to tired to drive myself home. So I crash on her couch. Within moments fatigue catches up with me, causing me to go into a dreamless slumber.
————————
The next morning I awake and feel gross, probably because I spent the last night at an arcade, ended up crashing on my cousins couch, and am still in yesterday's clothes.
I slowly get up and walk the few feet to Alex's kitchen, when I enter I see her lying face down at her small wooden table and someone I don't know cooking something on the stove.
"Who are you?"
The person turns to look at me, he has blond hair and brown eyes, he's tall and looks...frankly, boring.

"You remember Caleb, my boyfriend." Alex says, her head still face down. I sit across from her,
"You ok?"

"What do you think?" She mumbles

"Hangover?"

"Bingo".
Caleb comes over to the table and puts a plate of bacon and eggs in front of Alex, she looks up, her eyes have huge bags.
"Thank babe."
Caleb kisses her forehead,
"Anytime, I have to get to work, see you later, nice seeing you again Piper."

"Mmhm" I lift my hand at him as he walks through the back door. Alex begins to slowly eat her freshly cooked food. I get up and locate the mugs and coffee, I grab one and get myself a cup. As I do so I notice that her stove was on, but she said that last week it was having an issue..?

"Did you ever get the stove fixed?" I ask skeptically, returning to my seat.
Alex looks a little surprised but the expression disappears.
"Uh, yeah, just a couple days ago."
She has a tone in her voice that she suggests lying, but I don't push it.
"I haven't seen Caleb in awhile, how's he doing?"

"Fine, he got a small promotion at the company."

"Cool, which company does he work for again?"

"A paper company, why do you ask?" I shrug,

"Just curious."
I knew it, he was boring, honestly I really don't mean to be critical of my cousin, but she could have aimed higher with the personality, works at a paper company, has, just a, boring vibe, I mean what fun is that relationship?
Alex pulls me from my thoughts, bringing up something I wish she hadn't.

"Did you go on that date with Elliot?"

"Who?" I ask pretending not to know,

"Don't play dumb, Elliot Teal, one of Caleb's friends. I set you up on a date with him two days ago?"
Alex elaborate's. I don't say anything and look away.

"Well did you?!"

I still look away, then look down at my brown coffee,
"Nope" I say popping the 'p'.
Alex sighs
"For god sake's Piper James you're 22 and you haven't had a relationship since the end of high school!"
This irritates me, and I decide to come at her with something that I've had in the barrel a long time.

"Ok, the only reason that my relationship in high school ended was because Evan said that long distance wouldn't work, so we amiably parted ways. And the reason why I don't have one now is because I take my time before I really commit to a relationship, so I'm sorry that I don't hang onto the first boring man that shows interest in me!"

Pain and anger crosses Alex's face.
"I think it's time for you to go home" she says, I nod understanding. I grab my small amount of things and walk out into the rainy weather. I get in my small car and drive away. I don't cry or really feel remorse, I stand by what I said, and to be honest I think this is the most initiative I've taken in an argument, normally I just stay neutral and quiet, but something about this unlocked something, and I'm not entirely sure what that is, other then yelling about something I've had inside for awhile.
