Tara was nervous, she could feel Death's anticipation. It buzzed just below her skin and at the tips of her fingers. She wasn't ready but she was determined.

The first thing she did was organize her memory trees and repaired some branches, her powers always worked the best when she had a calm and clear mind.

Once finished she got dressed and left to meet the others on the air pad.

"You ready?" Clint shouted to her while ducking to get on the craft.

Walking forward she called back, "Nope."

Pietro raced into the police station warning those around, trying to convince them to evacuate and the gravity of the situation.

Yet no one listened.

Shoots sounded through the station- heads turned towards the source although most ducked for cover. "Get off your asses."

They got up that time.

Steve called for the group before they had the chance to run off, "All they want is to live their lives in peace, and that's not going to happen today. But we can do our best to protect them. And we can get the job done, and find out what Ultron's been building. We find Romanoff, and we clear the field. Keep the fight between us. Ultron thinks we're monsters and we're what's wrong with the world. This isn't just about beating him. It's about whether he's right."

He turned his head and looked Tara in the eyes once the others had disbursed, "Do what you have to do, and... just know that we will always be with you."

It's like he knew what she had been born to do; like he saw himself in her. Always wanting but never getting. The path that lies in front of them and their wanted destination so off course from where they need to go but can't help but have the tiniest bit of hope.

And he was right.

She had hope.

She had family.

She had support.

"I will."

Tara didn't know what the others were doing or how close they were to defeating Ultron, but she was struggling for the most part.

She helped every single person in sight. Every kid, every adult, and every animal. The longer Ultron stayed in power, the more powerful the other bots got making it harder for her to defend herself and others from large groups that came in waves.

She hoped everyone was all right. She doesn't want them to feel pain or loss- sadness or grief, especially when she had the potential power to stop it before it was possible.

"Boss, it's working. He's burning Ultron out of the net, he won't escape through there." Friday was helping in every way she could.

Ultron threw Vision in a fit of rage, "You shut me out! You think I care? You take away my world, I take away yours." It was so fast none of them could even attempt to stop him.

The ground beneath them shook and rumbled, cracks appearing to divide them from one another. They couldn't let this happen, they couldn't let all these people; all these innocent people with a huge future ahead of them have their lives taken from them.

"FRIDAY?" Tony called out concerned and with a hint of fear laced into his voice.

"Sokovia's going for a ride."

They seemed to be rising into the ground away from the rest of the earth beneath them.

"Do you see? The beauty of it, the inevitability. You rise, only to fall. You, Avengers, you are my meteor, my swift and terrible sword and the earth will crack with the weight of your failure. Purge me from your computers, turn my own flesh against me. It means nothing. When the dust settles, the only thing living in this world will be metal."

Talk about transformers.

"We gotta move."

First, she felt the ground shake and crack, as if an earthquake had hit in just one spot. Second, she heard the people around her cry and shout in fear of what was happening and where their loved ones were. Third, she noticed that her eyes immediately moved to look around for her family.

She couldn't find them.

She panicked moving around, helping others out from under pieces of rubble. She ushered civilians toward the sound of SHEILDS helicopters.

She spotted Clint and noticed his gaze, and when he started to sprint towards the kid she was about to stop the bullet until she saw a flash of blue and silver. It all happened so fast.

She was staring at the figure on the ground.

Flashes of James on that one October night passed by like milliseconds. It was happening again, the only difference now is that she had the power to stop it.

But she didn't.

When the ground started quaking the others paused as fear that they didn't destroy Ultron coursesd through them. It was cut short by a cry so familiar that it had them attempting to run towards it, but they were blasted back by a force stronger than they have every felt before.

"Fuck... Each and every signal one of you... MENTAL MOTHERFUCKERS!" The emotion was emitting from her body so heavily that it coated the floating Slovakia.

It felt unpleasant, uneasy; it was choking everyone. It felt like all their hopes and dreams were fading from them- the life was being sucked out of them with a tiny plastic straw.

Her eyes were dark and her skin was coated in black veins.

As she floated up into the air, a bone scythe was formating in her hand, and all at once for a split second, it was quiet.

Until it wasn't.

"AHHHHH" So much rage was spit into the scream and with a blast of energy she and all of her energy was gone.

She had accepted her destiny.
