Chapter 5

I couldn't bring myself to sleep... the clock was at just past midnight.. I got dressed, not sure of what exactly I was going to do. I found myself walking to the armory, and just starring for a moment. I should go find him.. Tears filled my eyes and I picked up a bow, and as I walked over to a set of iron armor I felt someone grab my arm, and take the bow out of my hand. Sapnap walked in front of me, setting the bow on the ground. "Y/n.. You need to rest. Leave the looking to us.." I tried to walk past him and pick the bow back up. "Don't even attempt to stop me. I can't just sit by while my friends work their asses off looking for my brother.."

Sapnap sighed "Fine.. But I'm coming with you." "No-" "Your not going alone Y/n! Even if I weren't your friend, Dream would kill me for letting you go on your own." "..."

Me and Sapnap returned when the sun had started to come up. Meaning we were out for roughly seven hour and still... we found nothing...

We got inside and I immediately went to my room, not even bothering with putting away the bow. I closed my door and locked it, slumping against the wall and trying not to cry. I held my hands to my head.. The thoughts in my head being cruel, and rather ruthless.. Fundy doesn't hate me.. I love him.. h-he wouldnt...

I was walking past Y/ns room and I heard sobbing. I backtracked my few steps back to her door, and knocked lightly. The noises quieted.. I knocked again "Hey its uhm.. It's me, George." "..." I heard the doorknob click and a small thump, I creaked the door open and saw her on this floor next to the door. She was against the wall in a ball, handing her face with her knees. "Y/n...?" "...w..what do you want..?" It was barely a whisper, I closed the door and went to sit right next to her "I know I'm probably not the right person you want to talk to but.." I put my arm around her "..I'm here if you need me..! So.. do you want to talk about it?" She raised her head a little and nodded, but still stayed silent "I'm guess Fundy is what's wrong..?" I got another nod "Uhm.. Dreams going to kill me for this... but.. Y/n I need you to look at me." Her eyes met mine, and I felt a lot more nervous than I was before "We know where Fundy is.. have since he left. I was tracking him using magic but.." I looked to the floor and I could tell she was upset and confused "He's not going to come home easily"

She was still unbearably silent and lowered her head again "O-oh.." With my arm still around her, I pulled her into a hug, and I could feel her arms wrap around me to "It's ok.. Or at least it will be. I know it may not be much coming from a friend you only met two weeks ago but... I promise that no matter what happens, I'll be here for you. Whenever you need it." I felt a tiny nod from the head that was buried in my shoulder

I want to help distract her from what's going on but he's her family... "Hey, I have an idea. Are you good to walk?" She didn't move, so instead I just picked her up either way. "W-what the hell are you doing?" "We are going somewhere I like to spend my time, it's rather calming in my opinion. Even if it IS a little cold with it being fall." I walked us to the gardens, and then to the maze. I got through it easily, and sat down in the center; where a little pond was with some flora around the place. I sat her down by the pond and went next to her "Pretty huh?" "Yeah.." There was a very small smile on her face, but a small smile is better than none I suppose "Pretty fucking romantic-" "what- wait- that's not-" My face heated up instantly, she seemed like she was joking around but that doesn't really take away the embarrassment-! She laughed.. "Chillaxe! I get it. You just wanted to take me here because it's a nice place" "y-yeah.. so your feeling better now?-" "..."

Whoops.. "sorry.." "No, no it's fine. Just a sore subject I suppose.. but it's nice to know that even if I was kept in the dark about it, that Fundy is at least safeish.." "I guess..?" I looked up to the clouds, laying down for the better view, she followed "I know that I was just joking about the whole romantic place thing but.. it's nice you showed me. I'm not really allowed outside the building without an escort so I've never really come here." "Really??" "Heh- yeah. Dream used to sneak me out of the castle when we were younger. He wasn't a knight yet, only 'some noble kid' who was my friend. He didn't like being followed around though so he often tried to avoid it at all costs" I laughed at that "Oh that absolutely sounds like Dream! Bet his sister was worse" "oh absolutely! Before she went missing the two of them would get in SO much trouble for the sake of us hanging out. I... guess that's something me and Dream have in common now.."

"Hey it's alright.. I get it. It's normal to be sad about a runaway sibling.." She was silent for a moment "I..." ... "N-nevermind..." She seemed conflicted over something "Are you ok outside of the obvious..?" "Uhm.. don't worry about it. I'm fine" ".. Okay.. if your just going to deny then I guess I won't push. But talk to me if you need to ok?" She smiled and nodded "Yeah I'll try"

We ended up sitting there and talking almost all day. Needless to say it felt odd talking to her like an equal but it's nice to be her friend. "George are you even listening?" "I- Yeah!- OfCourseIAmWhyWouldntI?!" She laughed "Uhuhhhhh sure, what was I talking about then?" "I.. Uhm.." "Yeah thought so. Anyways, I'm feeling hella tired. Could you maybe.. I don't know carry me?" She gave me some sort of puppy dog look, which TotallyDidntBrightenMyDayOrAnything yeah sure let's go with that-

"Hm~ I don't know! I could just leave you here to sleep in the cold!" I heard a dramatic gasp from next to me "No! You WOULDNT" "Oh I totally would~" We made fun of each other a bit before I gave in and carried her back inside on my back. "To my room!" "You literally haven't eaten since this morning" "neither have you- yet I don't see you complaining." I shrugged "Fair enough I suppose" I walked into her room and almost immediately she hopped off my back. "Thanks Georgie!" "It was nothin" She ran over to her bed, plopped down, and then rolled over to be laying on her back. I turned off the light and as I was about to close the door.. "Thanks bro, love you"

I felt a smile glow on my face and closed the door gently. I was met with Dream right next to the door.
