The Confrontation

Toecup made her way through the throng in an effort to reach shade as soon as possible. When she eventually reached the couch, she turned to him and gave him a worried expression. "Shadow, we must speak. Now. Please accompany me upstairs because I need to show you something that is really important and ask you a few questions" She pleaded. The hedgehog complied as they made their way upstairs to her room, where the music was muted enough to hear the audio. When they entered sept waved to Shadow and Shadow waved back. "Listen to this, this is the room Billy and Layla entered; if you don't believe me, you can even visit the location." She said as she exposed Shadow to the recording. She saw the expressionless visage of the shadows change to one of worry, tension, and despair. Shadow muttered as he observed her "Is this the reason he has been acting so suspiciously lately? This can't be true. Please direct me to the room where they are because I don't think I can trust this.". Toecup nodded and dragged Shadow along with her. As they arrived at the scene, Shadow pressed his ear to the door and started crying once he had heard the noises as well. Toecup embraced the hedgehog as he hugged her back. When they returned upstairs, Toecup and sept let Shadow sit on the bed while they tried to reassure him about his anxieties. "Are you going to ask Billy about this or are you just going to wait and see how long it takes? Shadow, you don't know what's truly going on. Maybe he's being coerced or manipulated into it "Toecup said. "Yeah, Layla can be really aggressive and manipulative too, so that circumstance is considerably more possible than him just falling out of love with you on his own, but again, they were childhood best friends." sept added. Shadow just sat there, sobbing, without moving. "I'm not sure what I'll do; perhaps it would be best for me to wait until he tells me so that I have time to consider my options. Billy readily succumbs to social pressure and manipulation, especially if it comes from someone close to him, such as a childhood best friend, so I just hope that all will turn out okay in the end if Layla is as manipulative as you guys make her out to be "Shadow expressed optimistically. Before turning to face the hedgehog, Toecup and sept exchanged looks. "Okay, let's get back down there and have a party, shall we?" With his tears having dried up, Shadow nodded. Toecup led him to the door, opened it, and then waited to make sure he made it safely downstairs and back to his buddies before quickly closing the door once again and proceeding to the side of the bed. "Well, that was definitely simpler to handle than I had anticipated. I just hope everything works out okay and Layla didn't ruin yet another relationship despite promising not to if I let her move in", Toecup expressed anxiously. sept gave her a quick look and said, "It'll be okay, honey, don't worry about it." He told her. "I'm just worried about them, both of them. Billy could be getting manipulated or forced into doing things he doesn't even want to do, and Shadow is literally getting cheated on by his own boyfriend of what, 5 years now! Imagine how stressful that is on the both of them. This could both mentally damage them incredibly a lot and the fact Shadow might not even have the strength to confront Billy at all until Billy tells him which might not ever even fucking happen like why did we tell him to wait?? Why did we suggest that?? Even if Billy never tells him and proves himself unloyal we don't even know if Layla is threatening him not to tell Shadow or not, because we will never know, because we were not Billy! We will never ever even find out the true story because one out of the three of them is bound to lie and its going to be Layla or billy because they're more worried about saving their own asses than other people because both of them ONLY! CARE! ABOUT! THEMSELVES!!" Toecup said, lashing out. septn sat there gazing at the toecup and then the floor, trying to think of anything to say, but he normally waited until she calmed down before speaking. As they sat up against the cushions on the bed, he dragged Toecup down with him. He then gave her the remote control as she mutteredly browsed the channels while sat inbetween his legs, lying on his chest. The periodic "this is dumb," "why do I have to put up with this," "it's always me who has to put up with this stressful stuff," "why can't layla give me a break," "layla is such a liar," or "layla can be such a bullshitter" were mutterings from her mouth, each time, sept said, "Everything is ok, love, so unwind and choose a movie. Okay?" She ultimately settled on watching a few short cookery videos on Netflix before switching to some silly roblox videos on YouTube that helped her go asleep. As a result, she was able to nod off while lying on sept's chest while he held her.
