Our Neko clan

Chapter 1

Chapter 1: Let's explain.

Since I enjoy reading the books from the warrior cats, I decided on another Neko story with our hero's. First chapter was supposed to be online 6-13-22 because it was a birthday present for my dear friend Yugi_Loves_Atem_1306. Sadly, the story fought me in any way possible and I hate to post a story when it's not ready, also I hate to write under the influence of a time limit, maybe that's why I write for fun and not make a living out of it, but I kept going not willing to give it up and eventually ended with this. Because I was late I hereby post all chapters at once.

The clan rules:

1. All new Neko's, depending on their abilities they get a rank, or they can consult with the Alpha what job they wish to have, do they not get claimed to become an omega, or the Alpha sees no reason to give this Neko a rank, they stay One of the clan.

2. A new member with a rank, stays in that rank only lower in position. Like when a third Beta enters but was a first or second Beta in their previous clan, it doesn't matter, they will become a third Beta inside the new clan.

3. Soul-Neko's albeit rare in a clan (recognizable on the same millennium symbols) mate for life and die within seconds after their mate passed away. Current soul Neko's are Thief and Heart, Tomb Keeper and Crazy, and Pharaoh and Yu-kit.

4. First time mating happens during the night of new moon, as a symbol of a newformed couple. It's a rarity when the mother becomes pregnant during new moon, those kittens are most of the times granted with a millennium symbol which are the so-called soul-symbols.

5. Neko's get their human name by their parents, however when in the clan, they get their Neko name from the Alpha.

6. Babies are called kit with the first two to three letters from their name. like for example Ry-kit=Ryou, Mal-kit=Malik, Yu-kit=Yugi. On their 18th birthday the 'babies' have past all children ages and will receive their Neko name and even get a new rank when they show potential to it during their baby stage. This always happens together with the clan meetings during the night of full moon.

7. Neko's only can be born when one or both parents are Neko themselves. If one parent has the gene, the child will find out when they get their first period or first wet dream depending on the gender of course, a sneeze makes them push their human ears back and grow cat ears on their head, also their cat tail comes out, so between the ages 10 till 11. Neko children of two parents show right away when they are born. When having the Neko parts, they will not disappear.

8. Leaving the clan in the form of exile, means you can never re-join the clan no matter the good deed you did to help the clan out.

9. When a Neko commits a crime, the first warning you get is exile, ignore exile and whenever seen, you will be killed, burned and the ashes will be buried.

The clan:

Because I could not find a clear rank between cats, I have decided to use the ranks a wolfs pack normally uses, with maybe a slight difference. Down here you find the names, ranks, and what kind of marks they carry to see the differences. The cats have Neko names but will not called out often with them, they only will be used when strangers are around. King and Queen are the only once using their given Neko name throughout the story.

Aknankanon. Atem's father. He is the only human in the clan. He is called King. He had as dream to bring Neko's and humans together so they could help each other and themselves to get over their insecurities, he opened a Highschool that goes further as college if the students wish not to live in the clan but are not allowed in an all-human college.

Amara. Known as Queen seeing she is married with King and head nurse of the college. She is a black Neko cat with red stripes, like her son she has unusual crimson red eyes. Because Aknankanon and Amara playing a big part in the boys life, they are mentioned here.

Atem: Neko name, Pharaoh, he is the Alpha: 19 years old, a black Neko cat with blond and red streaks his eyes are as crimson red as the tips of his hair. On his chest, he displays a golden upside-down pyramid with the eye of Horus on it. While in human form, his ears are not easy to be seen with his unruly tricolored hair. Even though he is one of the smallest, he easily can overpower his strongest Beta's with his strong will and ruling authority.

Akeifa: Neko name Thief and first Beta: 20 years old, a dirty white-grey coloured Neko cat with brown eyes so dark they are close to black. On his chest he displays a golden ring with several cones, he also has the eye of Horus shown on it in the middle. he is called thief because of his fast and stealthy acting. He is one of Atem's adopted oldest brother and because of his strength the first in the Beta rank.

Marik: Neko name Tomb Keeper and second Beta: 20 years old, a dirty platinum blond Neko cat with dark purple eyes close to red. On his left shoulder he displays a rod with wings, on the head of the rod is the eye of Horus visible, he is crazy in a way, but a great guard. His over guard-ness however gives him often trouble as will be mentioned in the next chapter. He is Atem's second oldest adopted brother and if his over guard-ness did not take the upper hand most of the times, he easily was the first Beta.

Malik: Neko name Crazy. He is claimed as Omega by Marik: 18 years old. Like Marik he is a platinum blond Neko cat only his fur looks like it's well kept. His eyes are purple but softer. His right shoulder displays the same rod as Marik has. Be careful around this one, he my look like he is a sweet and innocent soul, he is as crazy as they come.

Ryou: Neko name Heart. He is claimed as Omega by Akeifa: 18 years old. He is a snow-white Neko cat with gentle chocolate-brown eyes, between his shoulders he carries the same symbol Akeifa has. He loves to help people and as a parttime job he helps in the school's nursery.

Yugi: Neko name Yugioh but the name will be given to him when he turns 18. 16 years old, it was a shock when he suddenly came down the stairs six months ago. His tail is black with purple streaks, but the tip of his tail is blond. Like his body, his ears wave from black towards purple and end in blond, in between his eyes he has the same adorable little bang, he also has in his human form his chest has the same symbol Atem has. Because his mother hates the Neko inside him, she forces him to hide his ears and tail until further notice.

Grandpa: who doesn't know our beloved purple eyed old man who basically adopted Yugi's friends as his own grandchildren. During the time Yugi is on campus, he is trying to figure out where the Neko inside his grandson is coming from, it was him who managed convince Yugi's mother to send him to a school with fellow Neko's.

Vivian: Neko name unknown even for her Alpha, she does not wish to share it with her clanmates until she will become Alpha's mate. She is a black female cat with no real significances to recognise her with, only her eyes are as brown as dark chocolate. She often fights with the others and always brings it like she is the victim who did nothing, but often is found guilty because of the testimonies against her. her crimes aren't enough to kick her out of the clan yet. Although she adores Yugi in the anime, in this story she hates him.

Yugi's mother: not the friendliest woman in this story, but non the less an important asset to this story due to Yugi's background. She has a condition that is called Munchausen by proxy developed shortly after Yugi was born and kept well-hidden till it started to show when she needed to take care of him after her own mother died. She had given her parents 75% of custody over Yugi but grandpa is working on getting full custody when her condition became dangerous for the boy.

AN: for those who don't know, Munchausen by proxy is an illness often given to people who crave for attention but do not wish to harm themselves. They use the weakier victims like their own children or weakened parents. They manage to convince illnesses so the victim starts believing it themselves to have it, one with Munchausen by proxy even goes so far, they will break the bones from their child and twist the story in a way it is convincing the child had an unlucky fall. It is a cruel way of abuse and diagnosed only when more of the victims start to go against their abusive family member.
