Part 2

After all the paperwork was signed and they went over my allergies and medical information it was time for Lisa to leave.
"Okay so you are positive you have my number" she asks for the thousandth time. She always worries so much there's been so many horror stories about foster kids getting sent to abusive or neglectful homes. I've never been sent to one but that doesn't mean I won't be.
I nod my head and smile at her, she smiles back and pulls me in for a hug "come here" she said squeezing me tight. As she hugged me, I took in her sent, she smells like cherry blossoms in the summer time and it sets a worm feeling in my chest. "I'll be back in a month to check in and make sure your settling in okay but until then feel free to text me whenever you feel the need or even if you just want to say 'hello'."
She gives my hand a reassuring squeeze and then head out the door. I take a deep breath in trying to calm my nerves and turn to head back to the living room.

A couple sits on the couch whispering quietly with each other. I wasn't able to make out what they were saying. When I turned the corner they stoped and looked at me the woman smiled wormy. I've come to know the woman as Kimberly but she likes to be called Kimmy and the man's name is Thomas but Kimmy calls him Tommy.
"So Melody, is there anything you would like to eat for dinner? Im sure you have to be hungry." She's right I was "what's your favorite food?"she asks standing and looking at me with a small smile "I like pizza and Asian food" I say quietly
"How about we get some takeout Chinese food?" She asked walking to the kitchen, I fallowed idly behind her "yeah that sounds good"
"Do you have any homework for today?" A male voice asked from behind me. I turn around to see tommy.
"Oh yeah I do, I ment to ask you do you mind if my friends bring my homework to me and help me get set up?" She smiles and nods in agreement "that's fine with me is that okay with you tommy?"
"Yeah, sure why not!" He smiles and sits down. Just as soon as he did his phone rang he let out a frustrated sigh and rolled his eyes reaching into his pocket and answering the phone. "Hello?... now is not a good time...no we can't...it can't be that important..." he lets out a frustrated sigh "okay, okay we'll catch the next flight" he angrily hung up his phone and looked at Kimmy "they need us at the New York office."
"You're joking, what could they possibly need us for" Kimmy says irritation creeping into her voice "wait what's happening?" I ask confused by the conversation. They look at me with concerned looks on their faces
"We work for a large design company that has several offices across the United States" Kimmy began "but this specific office is HQ."
"And unfortunately they need us there by tonight, they're having a ball and need our help with a couple things" Tommy finished and Kimmy sighed
"I sware those people can't do anything on they're own" Kimmy grumbles pulling out a takeout menu "here hun puck out what you want and we'll call it in for you and go get it then we'll have to catch a flight but you're friends are welcome to come over if they still want to and they can stay the night so you won't have to be alone"
I nod and look at the menu.
After a moment of me silently trying to pick what I want I feel like if I thought any harder steam would start coming out of my ears.
Kimmy and Tom had gone upstairs to pack a quick bag. My phone started to ring which in return made me jump, "fucking hell" i sigh I'm a naturally nervous person and scare easily. I reach for my phone, "hello?" I say into the reserve. "Okay so you need to spill now what are they like are they cool?"
It's my friend summer. She's definitely the social butterfly of the group and will not hesitate to tell someone off if need be. "Lisen just be here at 6 and I'll tell you everything...oh and both of you need to bring a change of cloths bc your staying the night."
"Roger Roger" summer says "oh and I'm bringing bored games" she says and I grown.
