Silver's Lullaby

Chapter 5

"Come, come, tell us your names!" He smiled, his nine tails wrapped neatly around his paws as he sat down.

She looked at Yuki, Yuki seemed a bit nervous. Silver decided it'd probably be best if they went first. 

"I am Silver!" She announced, trying to push themself upward a bit. Just to seem a little bit taller. 

"And you are?" Plague asked, looking at Yuki, Yuki seemed to shrink back a bit. 

"I am Yuki!" Yuki barked quickly, and Plague smiled. 

"It is great to see so many foxes who wish to better themselves, who desire to become stronger. So many foxes who want the same thing, to rid the world of a common threat." Plague sat there, his voice ringing around the clearing. 

Silver couldn't help but feel excited and intrigued as Plague spoke, it felt as if they were a part of something bigger than herself. 

"Until the day we are all ready to fight to destroy this threat, we shall continue to train. Every fox shall now head to their training group." Plague finished speaking and instantly foxes broke apart and began to head into groups of four, or five. 

"Yuki, Silver. Come with me, you need groups still." Plague smiled, and Silver nodded.

Silver walked with Yuki, even though she couldn't tell if she still held a grudge against Plague, she was quite excited to at fighting. 

Plague approached a group of around three foxes. A tall, golden-furred, fox looked at them. He seemed to be helping the two other foxes, instantly he bowed his head noticing Plague. 

"Dai my good friend, could you take on these two in training, they currently have no group." Plague explained. 

Silver forced herself to sit quietly as she noticed Serpent, he was fighting with a white and red fox.

Serpent's a part of this?  I guess it's a good thing that Serpent is in the same group. That's someone I know, and they're a friend... I think?

"Alright, that's enough! Tanori, Serpent, quit that arguing and meet your new training partners." Dai said turning to his apprentices, Silver assumed Tanori was the white and red fox. 

Serpent ran ahead of Tanori, his three tails excitedly wagging. Tanori's eyes were narrowed as looked at each of them, his ears pinned back. He simply nodded to them.

"This is Yuki and Silver. They are your new training partners, you guys will have time to speak more after this first lesson." 

"Hm, Tanori and Silver. You two shall be on a team for this first round, I think it's best to see how well you can work with others." 

"Yuki and Serpent,  you shall be on a team. The goal is simple, you must fight until no one can go on, or until the other team surrenders. With that said, begin." Dai barked stepping backward. 

Silver launched herself at Yuki, Yuki gasped surprised. Yuki's claws dug into her shoulder, Silver winced in pain. They bit at Yuki's face, the larger fox kicked her off with ease. 

Silver pinned their ears back, she kicked some grass up at Yuki's eyes and glanced at Serpent to see how he was doing. 

Tanori had Serpent pinned, Silver stared for a moment before rushing over to help their friend. 

Silver headbutted Tanori off Serpent, and Tanori growled frustratedly. 

"Hey, you dumbass! We're supposed to be teammates!" He snapped at her, pinning them and dragging his claws down her flank.

"That's my friend-"

"Enough! All of you quit fighting now." Dai snapped, his ears were pinned back and his teeth were bared.
