The vixen got up, swiftly walking through the undergrowth of the forest, the moonlight hardly reflecting on their silver fur. She was little more than a shadow in the night as she broke into a run a goal clear in her mind, the scent of a human filled her nostrils her mind teethed bared. She grabbed a leaf from a bush, a cloud of smoke surrounded the fox allowing her to shape shift.
She let out a sigh mumbling a few words to herself.
"Great... Fourth human this month, are they finding out?"
She fidgeted with her kimono trying to hide her tail, even if they weren't a priest if they were spiritual enough they'd know. And she didn't feel like getting into a fight if they found out or knew.
She pressed her ears down.
"Oh for fuck's sake! They showed up again!?" She grumbled to herself.
She continued on anyways, their wasn't a point anymore. She just needed to get the human out and go back to uh.. Oh yeah, she didn't have shit to do. Maybe she could talk to the human for a short while, she was a little lonely after all.
She approached the cliff side the human was, the man standing their had pale skin and a light brown colored hair, they were wearing a simple tunic and holding a bow.
"Jack! Jack where are you!" The human yelled looking around.
She tilted her head keeping behind a tree, were they looking for something or someone?
"Excuse me sir?" She stepped out of her hiding spot curiosity sparking in her.
"Oh great, listen sorry forest guardian but I've lost my dog here and I will not be leaving until I find him." The man spoke turning to let her see his face, she nodded.
"So you've lost your mutt?" She narrowed her eyes, she hated dogs. They were one of the two animals she couldn't stand, they were just gross and a little scary.
"Don't call him a mutt!"
"Okay okayyy! I'll call it fleabag. But anyways I can help."
"Thanks for the help, and please don't use degrading names. Jack is like family to me and I don't appreciate people making fun of my family."
"Alright then, now shut up so I can focus." She closed her eyes trying to focus on different parts of the forest, pausing hearing barking near the river.
"He's by the river I'll lead you close to it and you can figure the rest out yourself."
the human nodded allowing the fox to take the lead, her tail swished behind her a bit nervous about being near the river again. For some reason she refused to be near there, her body just wouldn't let her as if something terrible would happen.
"Alright just head a little further north. This is as far as I'll go" she stopped hearing the river, she planted her feet to the ground. She didn't wanna go any further, she only wanted to run away as fast as she could.
"Alright, I'll leave as soon as I get him. And that's a promise missy."
"SILVER, My name is Silver!" She growled, nearly breaking her disguise.
oh great! Now you shared your name with a human, leave it to you to wreck your entire life Silver! Silver thought to herself disgusted with herself.
"Since you told yours guess I'll tell mine, I'm Allen." Allen said walking off towards the river with a small wave goodbye. She waved back, a small yearn to continue to talk or hangout. She knew deep down a fox would never be able to befriend a human, not now. Not ever.
