Darkness. Absolute darkness. Everything was pitch black, so you couldn't even tell if your eyes were opened or closed. Out of the darkness, a tiny light flickered far away, making the world seem tipsy. Were you drunk or something? No, you don't drink... but maybe you were drunk on water. The light was so far away like it was on the other end of a hall, but it made your body visible. It was cold, stingingly cold, yet you weren't affected much by it. Right, you had your phone in your pocket! You reached down into your pocket and pulled it out. You desperately hit the power button, home button, tapped the screen, but nothing happened. Suddenly, the light got closer and began circling you like an excited Growlithe. The thought of that made your heart race; what happened to your Pokemon?! Are they okay? More lights joined in the dance around you and your breathing grew heavy, it was like they were signifying your stress. You tried once more to turn on your phone when all of the lights rushed into the phone, lighting the screen completely white. You yelped as it was ripped out of your hands by some force. It flew over your shoulder and you turned around to see cold, red eyes staring at you. It had the body of a Stantler and a gold symbol around its torso, sticking outwards. It was Arceus, the Alpha Pokemon. The GOD Pokemon. You were looking into the eyes of God himself.
Everything went black again.
"Hey, are you alright? Wake up!" A voice called. As your eyes slowly opened to a bright light above. You felt a rush of something pour down onto you, nearly crushing you. You opened your eyes widely and jerked up after that. "Oshawott! Don't do that! They could have drowned! I guess they're awake now, though."
You rubbed your eyes and realized that you had become drenched in water. You looked over to some guy in a white lab coat and black undershirt... and purple shirt under the undershirt. He had black pants with small yellow stripes going vertically down them. He was on his knees, holding an Oshawott tightly in his arms. Next to him was a Cyndaquil and a Rowlet, who looked concerned for the man. Oshawott was squirming, trying desperately to get out of his grasp.
"OSHA! OSHAWOTT!" It cried as it reached for its shell on its belly and threw it at your face. It slashed above your nose and drenched you with more water. You quickly threw your head back and covered the spot you were hit at in pain.
"ACK-!" You shouted.
"I'm so sorry! Are you okay?" He asked, still holding the Oshawott tight. It looked like it wanted to rip your face off.
"I-I'm okay!" You responded quickly, even though you really weren't. You had just seen God and got attacked by a rabid otter.
"Get in the Pokeball, Oshawott." He sighed, pressing a Pokeball to Oshawott's head. It turned blue and became encased in the Pokeball. Looking at it in his hand, it looked strange. It was different from any other Pokeball you'd seen before. The bottom looked wooden and there was a button-looking thing on the top.
"Sorry about that. Get in your balls as well, you two" He turned to Cyndaquil and Rowlet, returning them to their Pokeballs, "Are you okay? You were just laying out here. What's your name?"
"Uh, my name is Y/N." You responded.
"Nice to meet you, Y/N! My name's Laventon. Professor Laventon!" He explained, "I was out here trying to catch these rascals... especially Oshawott as you could tell."
He brushed the back of his head and you realized that his hair was completely covered by his purple winter hat.
"Anyway. D-Do you have anywhere to go? Like, are you lost?" Laventon asked.
"I... I guess so." You sighed.
"Well, I could bring you to Jubilife Village! They don't usually allow outsiders in, but hopefully they'll make an exception for me!"
