"I'm here, Cyllene! Where's the cute little..." Some guy's voice called, you assumed that was Volo. "Cyllene, that's not a dog."
"They're my pet."
"I'm not complaining, I just expected an Arcanine or something." He said as you heard footsteps get closer to you. Something brushed the bottom of your chin and you pulled away, whimpering. "I'm not going to hurt you. Don't be scared."
You leaned into his touch as he pat your head.
"Anyway, I'm leaving. Volo, your job is to keep them from escaping or being bad." You heard the door shut.
"So, Cyllene told me you fell from the sky. Is that right?" He asked, rubbing your head and chin at the same time.
"Mhm..." You nodded.
"Looks like Arceus sent down another hopeless mortal. If Arceus even cared about this world, he would do something about it himself. He would be down here right now and save you, but he doesn't care. He'll just replace you with another human and restart the cycle again."
What the fuck was he talking about?
"Sorry, but it doesn't seem like there's much hope for you. Chances are that you'll stay with Cyllene for the rest of your life." He explained. That made you tear up and whimper, wanting to cry. "However, I will do my best to take care of you while she is gone. At least that will make it more bearable and I'll be able to talk about whatever I want with you. You won't be able to talk back with that gag in your mouth. But..."
He pulled the gag out and you gasped for a deep breath of air from your mouth. He also untied your blindfold and you looked up at him. He looked just like Cynthia. You were sure he was Cynthia in disguise. He took off your ankle and wrist binds as well, allowing you to move freely for the first time in a while. He kept the leash on, though.
"Do you need anything?"
"F-Food... Please..." You stammered as you just realized that you were starved.
"Does she feed you dog food?" He asked. You shook your head and nodded towards the bag of potato mochi she had brought in. He stood up and grabbed it, handing the entire bag to you. "Dig in."
You nearly began crying out of joy as you quickly ate a ton of the mochi. At one point, it didn't even taste good anymore, but you were so happy to finally eat some food that you didn't care.
"T-Thank you so much...!"
"No worries." He responded, and tears finally fell from your eyes. He picked you up bridal style and placed you on the bed, tucking you in and sitting to your side. He began petting your head again. "Cyllene will probably be back when you wake up, but savor some safe sleeping for a bit, okay? It's healthier. Plus, I can bore you to sleep if you'd like."
"T-Thank you... Volo..." You nodded, trembling slightly as you pulled the blankets further up your body and listened to him talk about Arceus or something.
Wait, no one else knew what Arceus was, did they?
You woke up back in your cage, it was fixed now and in the corner of the room, along with a table on the other side. You could only see out the front. You lifted your head and saw Cyllene sitting on the bed. Your binds were still off, but you had your shock collar on. You bent down and grabbed a squeaky toy in your mouth. You chewed on it, making squeaking noises. Cyllene realized that you were awake hearing that.
"You like your toys?" She asked, getting off of the bed and stepping closer. You nodded, chewing on it more. You felt like you were satisfying her by acting like a dog. "How cute. I was thinking of teaching you some tricks, how about it?"
