"Urrgh... wha...?"
The figure started to regain conscioussness as he felt the languid morning sunlight warm his body up. However, as he began to stir from the heaviest sleep he ever had in his life, he felt that there was something somewhat unfamiliar about the place he lay. He wasn't expecting to feel a short-cut turf of sort underneath him. He felt a gentle bluster hit him. Was he near a coast? Where was he?
No sooner did he try to recover, did he soon feel his head swim and he soon felt weary. Five more minutes, he told himself, and he soon curled up into a scarlet ball and went back to sleep. He only woke up again when a familiar voice pierced through his unconsciousness.
"...Hey... Hey, Homeslice...! ...You Okay...?" The Gruff voice sounded as it became clearer and clearer as scarlet managed to bring himself out of the uncosnsiousness. He opened his visor and blinked it several times, trying to get his vision back into focus. He Soon managed to wake up, but he still felt so weary... but he was thankful to see the figure in front of him, a Yellow Bean with a Crown on his head.
"...Hey, Veteran... urrgh... what... what's going on...?" He asks, very much still with a raging headache. He was tempted to go back to sleep, but he was trying ever so hard to fight it... But his body was beginning to fail him in that regard, and soon enough, before he could even register it, he fell back into the blackness once again.
"Oh man... Guys, Player's not doing too good over here." The Yellow clad bean then said, looking over his non-existent shoulder at the Purple bean with a cute lime green bean in one nonexistent arm. Both of them rushed over to them and looked on at the scene. "He, like, fell asleep or something."
The Purple Bean then checked over the unfortunate guy, making sure he's okay. He then looked back and then explained it: "Yeah, uhh... Player's been knocked around pretty bad when coming here like the rest of us. I guess we gotta let the guy rest up or something, Veteran."
However, Veteran then objected slightly. "... Hey, we gotta, like get this place a bit more sorted out or something, like, I for once ain't sleeping in that base with a dirt wall behind me tonight." He then said as he got up and walked off, grabbing a cubic pickaxe and an axe, the former had a head of iron, the other one was stone, both had a simple wooden handle, from near the door of the room. Engineer and Gnome looked on at Veteran walking out of the room and once he shut the door, they then glanced at each other.
"Uhh, Engie? ...He's got a point... We need to get this place a bit more... Yeah." Gnome then said, as she too got up and walked off out the door. The echoing yell of "Veteran, Where's my Stone Axe gone?!" was all that Engineer could hear before silence came over the room. It was a simple room, with beds laid out with cuboid barrels set out beside the simplistic furniture and crude torches lighting up the space. Panelling made of simple trapdoors boxed off each bed or pair of beds, and the walls were made of a warm, invitingly toned Spruce wooden planks. There were way more beds than people there, as they were prepared for anything. Player was set on the bed to the right of where Veteran had set up his 'bedroom', and it was the least they could do for the moment while they get their actual base sorted out.
At this point, Engineer decided to get up and walk off. There was work to be done, after all. He then walked off. He was a bit unsure as to if he should leave Player here on his own, but he then tried to tell himself that he'd be okay, and that Veteran was right. With that, he steeled his nerves and then walked off, leaving Player alone.
And that was how it stayed for at least a fraction of the short, scant day. The peace was only broken when the door flicked open with a click, and the figure of a grey-coated bean limped in. Groaning and gasping because of all the injuries he sustained, he then shut the door and limped over to his area, red sanguine dripping onto the warm brown wooden planks underfoot. He barely managed to get back to his own living area before he collapsed, hissing hrough the pain and the weariness. He was, with his left hand, cluching a flint-tipped arrow in his right side, and with several big breaths to calm himself... the grey bean with a bandanna then pulled the arrow from out of his side.
"NNNGH!" He yelped as quietly as he could as a little bit of ruby came spurting out, and then, he flopped onto his bed, feeling decidedly sickly. He muttured "...urrgh... curse the creatures of-u the dark..." before he removed his bandanna and put it on the top of the barrel to one side of the bed. He felt like just fading away, but being a warrior, he just couldn't let himself go like that. even through his heavy head and strength-sapping injuries. He blinked his visor several times, trying so desperately to cling onto the waking world, but it was slipping from his grasp quickly.
Soon enough, the Crewmate known as Ninja then flopped his head back onto the bed's soft, woollen pillow, and then let himself relax... just this once... just... for five minutes...
And so, he closed his visor, and gently fell into a deep sleep, just like Player was, just a few placed over from him. Ninja didn't really like being lazy, and he ofen would've been working to clear out the caves if anything reared its ugly head, he;d be there, but after torches had been placed in every conceivable area underground in their little corner of this blocky landscape, he barely had to to much. And for the msot part, He might actually have deserved a break.
The others barely even knew of Ninja's abscence, until they came back at evening, after a little bit more work to finally get their base sorted out. Gnome opened the door, and immediately, they all heard two people snoring. The three then quietly looked over to see not just Player was fast asleep, but Ninja was as well, even with the latter being heavily injured. It was an adorable scene to see the normally hardworking and stoic Ninja curled up, fast asleep and looking so adorable.
It was at that moment that The rest of the Beans decided to follow suit, and they then all jumped into their own beds and settled down for the night. Well, that was until Gnome wearily asked Engie something: "Engie...? Did we block the doorway into here?"
"Uhh... Wha...?" Engineer sleepily asked. Gnome rolled her visor and then got up and then walked out to see what defences they had. Luckily, She did have the sense left to block the door with cobblestone, and from out of the iron bars to the outside, she could already see the mosnters piling up outside. Good thing that she managed to block that door up. She then wandered back to her bedroom, her feet dragging, and after she closed the door to the bedroom, she then walked over to her bed and crashed into it. "...Yeah... The Doorway's okay... goodnight, engie..."
And with that, Gnome fell asleep. Engie then looked around in sleepy confusion before laying his head down and going to sleep. It was going to be a big day tomorrow, after all...
