The Funeral

The following week, it was George's funeral. They have already done the service, Renee and Evan saying goodbye.

For some reason, Hailey was invited. Renesme was holding an umbrella, Hailey soon approaching. Renesme was ashamed that she actually used to like her, then she started almost abusing her little brother. Then Vonnie came out and the two started dating.

Regardless if she still liked her or not, Renesme wanted to throw up when she walked in the service.

'It's such a shame that Evan's boyfriend was murdered...maybe if he didn't try something new his boyfriend would still be alive.' Hailey said in an almost sassy tone.

'Don't mention it. Now isn't the time.'

Renesme just stared, completely ignoring the popular brat beside her.

Now, Hailey liked to keep things clean and organised. The girl herself seemed very much polite, weak, like a girl stuck in the early 19th century.

Who knew what she had done though?

Renesme was analytical, however she couldn't read anything from George's corpse when she had discovered it. There was no trace of the suspect. No fingerprints on the sledgehammer either.

If she knew someone, she'd map out their whole personality, and the insane traits lead to Hailey...

She seriously thought that Hailey was a bimbo, dumb to just get caught. However, Hailey proved to be more intelligent than Renesme initially thought...

Then it went back to what Hailey said, trying something new. As if Hailey claimed Evan as her own, despite him never consenting to a relationship.

'You don't happen to admire your brother, do you?' Hailey asked

'In that way? Why the fuck would I? He's literally my brother.'

'Hmm... What if we made him jealous?'

'No. I have a girlfriend.'

Hailey simply walked away from the funeral. As if that would work.
But then again, Renee had that unmistakable feeling that something would go wrong. Terribly, terribly wrong.
