The discussion didn't exactly go well, despite Roses protests, Loki always seemed to come up with counter claims along with that.. stupid.. handsome smirk. His points always managed to come to to SHIELD, using them to his advantage at how if she didn't go along with this or that, it go against Fury. Blast that director if it meant being treated like a boarder line slave all the time rather than the hired help trying to get someone to adapt to this planet. And just as she seemed to always get to her breaking point, there he was always managing to do something nice like throw a compliment here and there or offer for her to join him in casual activities such as reading.
Honestly, he seemed bi polar- frustrating one moment and a gentleman the next. It would be easier if he would just pick one and stick with it but honestly it could just be the trickster in him.. but it made winning arguments impossible against his silver tongue. Like it or not, she had to listen to him- gods forbid he ever took it out on the world.. literally. Yet their arguments never got that far, but her duties tended to get more strenuous. She just prayed her patience through all this.. for the most part, would rub off on him. Or the spoiled prince would just ignore it all and skip around getting his way all the time.
They had discussed the schedule and despite her argument to change a lot of things, they eventually ended up with this; from now on she would address him as sir, coffee or tea in the morning then teach him at least one new thing to adapt to this world. Then he would have his quiet time to himself, dinner together and then part for the evening. This went on for a couple of days, Rose only choking out sir by imagining she was back at SHIELD talking to her hire ups. Ignoring his sexual innuendos was a bit of a challenge as well because his orders tended to get stricter the more she rolled her eyes or obviously ignored him and quite frankly, she was tired of the orders such as finding things she knew he purposefully hid or having to fix things that made her have to bend down where he'd sneak a free view. Some tasks were simple ordered so she would get close to him, or to at least spend time; and all the while it was getting harder and harder for them both not to think of the other whenever they were apart.
Regardless, he handled breakfast himself and lunch she taught him variations. All the while his eyes watched her, wandering when she wasn't looking and when she was. At least the arguments stopped and took form into more of bickering like a married couple. Yet despite how much they'd hate to admit it, they found it enjoyable in some strange way and the conversations they got to have that no Midgardian would exactly understand between the two unearthly beings. However as time passed, the more and more he kept asking about her wings and every time he did, she found a way to change the subject. This often got him frustrated and she ended up faking a tired spell or retreated to her room for the night.
She ended up secretly making a nighttime routine to help ease her frustrations of the topic and the day and she stepped out onto the balcony. The night air was blissful and blew gently through her hair and feathers, making her wings stretch out to get more of the feel. Her eyes were closed as she took a deep breath to relax before she took off. One hard flap was all she needed to get airborne into the night sky that covered the twinkling lights of new York city below. This was when she felt closer to home as the cool air blew against her face and wings as she aimed high, coming to a hover before freefalling and catching herself, repeating herself again and again as a smile spread across her face.
As she flew, it always helped relax her body and mind.. yet also allowed her thinking time as well and the question she had been trying to ignore came up again; what happens after? What happens when he's learned all of housing life and she wouldn't be needed anymore? Would she see him again? The thought made her chest begin to ache and it surprised her, making her eyes open and her smile waver. She actually had feelings for him.. the realization had her slowly drift back down to the edge of the rooftop where her eyes lifted up into the sky still. Perhaps the last things she could teach him was outside life living.. would Fury allow her? If he was being successful here then why not? It was the key factor after all to moving forward as far as money goes. The very idea of possibly spending more time with him had her come back early, closing the balcony doors behind her quietly as her eyes blinked to try to adjust to the darkness of her room again.
''am excellent way to relax darling, I would say..''
A voice behind her had her jump and while around to face her balcony again, seeing Loki standing there before her.
''..got to keep all parts of her exercised.'' She tried to sound casual, as if he didn't just scare the living daylights out of her as she felt around and managed to turn on her dim lamp right by her nightstand. She raised a brow when she didn't hear any snarky reply, or any reply really and turned around to see his expression; gentle and quiet, his eyes low but almost at her own as he stayed in his place.
''..now can I see them?''
''Loki..'' she sighed, her voice as equally as quiet as he slowly walked across the room and stopped in front of her.
Very slowly, he raised his hands up in a surrender position, palms facing her as he gazed down with a soft expression. ''I promise love, all intent is out of fascination, nothing more'' his voice had a small tease to it, making her almost smile as she looked at his hands. His digits were long and slender, her wings fluffed a little almost out of anticipation which surprised her. A feeling of bashfulness came to her stomach to match the blush on her cheeks as she bit her lip. It had been weeks of refusal.. but the feeling she had earlier when she thought of maybe not seeing him again made a nag that had her answer before she even realized she had.
''..alright..''
Her voice was barely a whisper, but Loki hid his surprise well as it returned to its gentle self and he slowly lowered his hands. His movements were slow, as if at any moment he was ready to stop whenever she said the word and he moved himself behind her. His hand gently rested itself at her shoulder, wanting her to know he was there and where he would start.. before he slowly glided his fingertips over to her spine and moved down to her backline, just between each wing.
Although she couldn't see him, she knew he had smirked by her reaction but remained still as she closed her eyes and he moved his thumb to where her wing attached to her back, gently feeling the limp as if to figure out the bone structure of where it was connected. His hand then rested down flat and glided slowly up her wing, coming up to the top of it before pausing. His other hand gently moved to her other shoulder, slowly repeating the same process his other hand had bone until they both were in the same opposite sides.
Rose took deep breath as the redness of her cheeks grew and her heart rate quickened. His eyes traveled everywhere, almost out of lust but more out of love and curiosity before he glided both his hands down, his fingertips curling ever so slightly to run through her feathers which made her shiver down her spine.
''my apologies..'' he whispered gently, a smile of triumph slightly shown on his lips as he tried to read her quietness and tried encouraging her that it was alright and not anything.. sexual. ''the muscles are very powerful; I can imagine very similar to perhaps your legs and your arms. They're bone structure mimic elbow joints.''
''..you don't say..'' her voice indicated a tease but failed at hiding her squeak at his touch.
''you're a very fascinated individual Rose..'' Loki whispered, his hands moving back to where her wings connect to her back and stopped just underneath each one. He held onto her silence for a moment, seeing how fast her breathing was even when standing behind her and he slowly leaned down, his lips just an inch away from kissing between her feathered limbs where her soft skin was but he stopped himself, seeing how to fast her breathing was. He needed baby steps and make sure she was relaxed before he did anything.. erotic again.
His soft breath against her skin didn't go unnoticed as she resisted the urge to move and she could have sworn his lips may have grazed her skin between her wings, but when she glanced back at him, he was standing straight and his hands slowly moved back to his sides.
''..does this mean you'll finally stop asking?'' she teased as she rubbed her arms, hoping he thought it was because of the cold and not because of the goosebumps as he walked back in front of her with a smirk.
''perhaps, unless I have more questions about them but I am a ..physical learner.''
Rose gave him a sheepish smile as she watched him walk to the door. ''..goodnight Loki..''
Pausing, he didn't bother hiding his surprise at her comment and looked back at her from the doorframe, a pleased and gentle smile came to his lips as he looked over the bashful girl before him.
''goodnight Rose.''
