LOVE WAS THE ONLY THING EVERY BEING SHARED. It was a natural experience for everyone, the blessed emotion that brought joy to even the darkest of times. A glimmer of hope in the relentless darkness the reeked havoc across one's mental and physical stability. It was a human experience to love, but when you loose sight of it, the pain is overwhelming and destructive for your tender heart.

Stephen Strange felt that familiar heartbreak as the woman who claimed a forever home in his hollow heart made a vow to love another man unconditionally for as long as they both breathed. Though Christine's happiness infected Stephen in short spurts, it didn't ease the pain and that immense amount of 'what if's that plagued his thoughts.

The sour taste of alcohol tore him from the past, the wine grounded him and he looked over hesitantly as Christine engaged with her guests. Her bright smile was a ray of sunlight, spread across her expression in a dark shade of red, she looked as radiant as ever.

The clink of glass against the bar top caused the sorcerer to turn, gladly taking the newly refilled glass of white wine. Flavoured with lemon, it was a different taste but just as strong as the previous in keeping Stephen's focus in the reality he stood in. With the glass held to his kindly chapped lips, Stephen's heart skipped a beat as he caught Christine leaning beside him from the edge of his vision.

She cleared her throat. "Glass of red, please," she asked gently, a kind smile upon her rose painted lips.

Stephen's heart urged him forward, the unconditional love he had for Christine never faltering. "Oh, allow me, miss," he said gently, flicking his fingers over the glass of white wine and turning it to the crimson red.

"Ah..." Christine dragged out teasingly as she watched the liquid change colour.

"Little too on the nose?"

Christine lifted the glass to her lips as they turned to face one another. "What? For you, at my wedding? Nah..."

Their glasses clinked together with the faintest of tings, a forced smile lifting onto Stephen's dried lips as he expertly hid the sorrow he was gifted with at the sight of Christine vowing to love someone else for an eternity. "Congratulations," he said softly.

Christine's smile became genuine. "Thank you." In unison they took a drink of their individual beverages, before Christine's eyes lit up, glimmering as brightly as Stephen recalled they did when ever she was actively expressing joy. "There's Charlie. I have to introduce you because he's kind of..." she trailed off, clasping both hands around her red wine. "It's embarrassing, but he's a big fan."
