Y/N froze, as if somebody dumped an ice bucket on her, honestly, the bucket dumped would have been better than what Ben revealed. Her arms and legs felt limp and she heard the breaking of something-a plate-probably the brownies she was holding fell down. She lost the sensation in her ears and just before her body was about to make contact with the white coloured marble of her house, she felt two arms wrap around her. Still, she didn't make any effort to move, basically sitting in Ben's lap on the floor, too shocked to do anything.

Ben wasn't looking at her when he dropped the bomb, too scared for her reaction, but as soon as her heard the breaking of a utensil, his eyes grew wide and knew that shit had gone serious, his feet immediately running to the kitchen. He reached just in time to hold his wife, who was about to fall flat on the floor, up from doing the same and damaging her head. Ben's heart was shattering seeing her state, which was eyes wide, frozen as if she hadn't moved in over 70 years, jaw hanging open like she had seen people turn to dust right in front of her, but he knew it wasn't the time to dwell on that. Not that he can take his words back.

He missed her. Missed the calming feeling he got while gliding his hands through her hair, and her soft protesting about messing up her hair. (Though they both knew she loved it as much as Ben, if not more). He missed how they tried to cook, even if ended up in a food fight most of the times, and hell he would give anything to eat whatever new she attempts to make, no matter how bad. (Not that he did anyway).

He held her gently in his arms and didn't even try to adjust himself when he felt his leg rest on something sharp, maybe the broken pieces. He wondered if the pieces of his broken heart were there too, but it wasn't just the time to be dramatic. Gently cooing to calm her down like you do to a baby, he held her close to his chest repeating, "Come back. Come back to me," in her ear. It worked to bring her out of nightmares, maybe it may work in this case too. Feeling something wet drop on his arm, he realized it was a tear, surely his. If this is the effect of her knowing about their marriage, then what if something worse happened? Thankfully, he was brought out of his panic session when he felt Y/N move.

"Th- thank you." He just nodded.

He just now realized the shards breaking his skin, too filled with adrenaline to notice before, and let out a little wince. Y/N immediately tore himself apart from him and saw some little drops of blood near his leg. She helped him move to the bathroom and picked up the first aid kit, dressing his wounds carefully. She wasn't a nurse, but her own injuries during the first months of her living here had taught her a lot about wounds.

Despite whatever happened, Ben just looked down at his other half lovingly, it automatically helped him forget the pain. He noticed her furrowed eyebrows trying to concentrate, along with the little of her tongue sticking out from between her plump lips. He felt relieved seeing her again like this after long and didn't have the heart to bring up the topic that caused all this. Thankfully, he didn't have to.

"So...we're married huh?" She asked looking up to him.

He let out another slow nod.

"How long?"

"This year would make it 3."

"Wait...you mean we got married at 25?"

Another nod.

"But that's too young."

"Well you were the one who proposed. Plus at that point we had already been together for 7 years."

"That does sound like something I would do. And holy shit, 7 years?"

One more nod.

"You're nodding a lot you know."
