Am I more than you bargained for yet?

I've been dyin' to tell you anything you want to hear

'Cause that's just who I am this week

Lie in the grass, next to the mausoleum

I'm just a notch in your bedpost but you're just a line in a song

I groan as I reach out to turn my alarm off. This day already sucks. My mum thought that moving from sunny Los

Angeles to cold and rainy London would be a good idea.

Moving here didn't bother me because I didn't have any friends to say goodbye to back in LA. It's just that England is really far away. A little part of me hopes, that things will change here. But that's probably isn't going to happen because I'm a socially awkward 16 year old girl.

Finally i crawl out of bed and plug my phone into the docking station, with my music on shuffle.

All the small things

True care, truth brings

I'll take one lift

Your ride, best trip

I have to get ready. I step into my small ensuite bathroom and look into the mirror. My curly, ginger hair sticking out in every direction. I stare at the not-so-pleasant view and sigh.

I take a way too long shower and quickly search for my favorite black sweater and some black skinny jeans to wear. My room is filled with boxes. I really should unpack them and try to settle in.

"Cat? Honey, we have to get going. Don't want to be late on your first day." My mum yells from downstairs. "Coming" Everyone calls me Cat or Kitten but y real name is Acacia Louise Bradbury. Acacia is such a bitchy name.

Hurrying out of my room, I almost forget my phone. Hell no. I ain't leaving without my god damn phone.

I get in the car with my mum. "Cat, look. I know you're still mad about moving. I'm sorry, the things between your dad and I just didn't work out the way it was suppose to." She says looking at me with a worry look in her eyes. "Oh and you realized that after 19 years of marriage?" I snap. "I'm sorry alright? What can I do to make things better?" I just shake my head and plug my headphones into my phone.

I never thought I'd die alone

I laughed the loudest who'd have known

Adam's Song by Blink-182 starts playing as I look out of the window. I'm not sure why I'm so disappointed in her. It's just, that she just gave up on their marriage without even trying to fix things. My dad got drunk a lot and I knew that. But she didn't even try to help him. She just left.

I didn't even realize we stopped in front of the school. "Have a nice day cat. Call me later and I'll pick you up. Alright? I love you" she says as I leave the car.

Somehow I manage to find the administration office without getting completely lost in the huge building.

"You must be Mrs. Bradbury our new student, right?" A lady, probably in her mid-forties, sits there smiling at me. "yeah" I answer looking out of the window. "Alright here is your timetable. Ask someone to show you around. The building is a little bit confusing." I thank her and walk out into the large corridor again.

A random guy suddenly walks into me, knocking me over. My glasses fall to the ground and I can't see, shit. "Oh my god! I am so sorry!" I hear a thick British accent "Let me help you!" The mystery guy says while handing me my glasses.

I put my glasses back on and mutter a quiet thank you. The guy helps me get up. I assume he's going to leave or at least let go of my hand. But he just stands there grinning at me and shaking my hand. "Nice to meet you, I'm Matt. Matt Barnes."
