The last thing Camile remebered before she fell asleep was Anthony slipping into bed next to her, smelling like mint toothpaste and aftershave. She ignored his presence and drifted into a restless sleep.
In her first dream, she found herself in a busy park full of mothers with infants. In her arms was Lana and she was rocking her softly. Suddenly, all of the mothers shuffled out of the park quickly. Only Camile remained, holding Lana.
A red woman walked through the path the mothers had made. Her skin was charred and unhuman like. Camile clutched Lana closer to her and tried to step backwards, but found herself a step closer to the woman.
"Please don't hurt Lana," Camile pleaded.
"I don't want it." The woman stepped closer.
"What do you want then?" Camile cried.
"Your body." She lunged at Camile with a torch that had appeared in her left hand.
Camile woke up panting and disoriented. She looked around and realized that she was in the kitchen, a open bottle on vodka in her left hand, pressed to her lips.
