Boots layed there for what seemed like a very, very long time. Then he woke up. He was under a tree, laying peacefully.

He stood up in confusion. It was night. "How long have I been asleep?" He asked the emptiness around him. 'Wasn't it day when I fell asleep?' Boots paced back and forth.

Truth is, he didn't remember the car, or anything like that. He just remembered laying down, and sleeping. For a very, very long time. He remembered it being a peaceful sleep. Expect, instead of under the tree, he remembered being in the road when he fell asleep.

"Hey! Abe!" He called out.

Boots began to circle around the house. "Abe! Gingerale?! Where is everyone!"

Boots began to frantically paw at the door, but there was no answer. Then he saw another cat. It was the neighbors cat. He walked up to them.

"Hello? Do you know where Abe and Gingerale are?" There was no answer. The other cat didn't even seem to realize him.

Boots tried again. "Excuse me? Do you know where my brother is? He's grey, and has green eyes. He smells like a pine tree..." Boots trailed off when he realized the cat wasn't even looking at him.

'Maybe he's deaf... And blind...' Boots thought sadly. The neighbor's cat began to walk away.

Boots turned away, as well, and began to go back to the tree. He layed under the tree until sunrise.

CHAPTER 2: END

Fun fact: Cats think humans are just big, hairless cats.

Yes. The other cat is deaf and blind. Definitely.
