a brief timeline of your relationship with matt

- you and matt are the epitome of childhood best friends to lovers.

- you guys met on the playground at school in like first/second grade.

- at first, out of him, nick and chris, matt was the most hesitant to befriend a girl at such a young age. (he def thought girls had cooties until like 6th grade).

- after you pushed the mean kid in your guys' class into a puddle, matt was quick to befriend you.

- matt gave you the first nickname you ever got and you thought it was the coolest nickname ever.

- flash forward to the first dance in sixth grade, matt was a nervous wreck because the entire time he and his brothers got ready, he kept mentioning how he wanted to dance with you.

- which made chris and nick bug the shit out of him, saying he liked you and they even sang the whole "matt and yn sitting in a tree, k-i-s-s-i-n-g" song.

- you guys danced to little things by one direction, thanks to your classmates repeatedly requesting it.

- you and matt both freaked out in the respective bathrooms, giggling to your friends and finally admitting your crushes to your friends.

- flash forward to high school, the two of you were more inseparable than the triplets are.

- however that changed when you started dating brett, one of the guys from your history class.

- you thought brett was cute and you two got along well, however you didn't fully like him.

- you knew your heart belonged to matt, there was no denying it. brett knew but he hoped to change that.

- and brett was close until matt showed up at your place on graduation night after months of only seeing each other in passing or briefly greeting one another while you were at the sturniolo's house.

- "matt what're you doing here? aren't you supposed to be at josh's party?"

- "i'm so in love with you yn. i've never once loved someone the way i've loved you. i've never loved anyone but you. i know you're happy with brett but part of me is screaming to ask, is there a chance that you possible feel the same as i do?"

- "matthew sturniolo, you're an idiot if you think i don't love you back."

- you had explained to him that you broke up with brett almost an hour before he showed up, muttering something about how you'll never get over your feelings for him.

- now, you've been together just over a year and you're both the happiest you've ever been.
