Chapter 8: The Patronus

After some more stressful time at school, Alaina decided to take a little bit of matter into her own hands.

Alaina thought back of her days when she was Ten Years Old, she barely smiled and her arms were still sore from her scars that she earned the year before.

So, Alaina had a plan.

If she wanted to Protect Harry, Find Claire, and defeat Sirius Black, she had to learn more and more spells.

She was super focused this time around, she practically had to pressure herself into knowing more.

Her favorite Charm so far, was Depulso.

It was basically a spell that knocked things back, she loved the way it had people or things sent flying.

She used on two items in Charms Class as she was told,

There was also this weird gross hex called the Bat Bogey Hex.

Apparently, It has Bogey's Form into Bats and it is disgusting.

Nobody really planned on using this Charm, Ginny however, seemed to have a strange interest to it.

Alaina heard that Harry was spending a lot of time with Professor Lupin this year, so this caught Alaina's interest.

She headed to the Defense Against The Dark Arts Classroom, and knocked on the door to see if anyone was inside.

Surprisingly, Professor Lupin was inside.

"Hi, Professor Lupin." Alaina greeted

"Oh, Hello Alaina, what are you here for? Do you need anything?" Asked Lupin

"Well, yes, I was wondering, are you busy right now?" Asked Alaina

"Not at the moment." Said Lupin

"Do you... think you can teach me some spells?" Asked Alaina

"What for?" Asked Lupin

"No reason, I just thought it might be a good idea to learn more from you.." Said Alaina

"Well, I'm pleased to hear that you would like to keep up with your studies, and I'm willing to teach you but I'm not exactly sure if now is the right time to do so." Said Lupin

Alaina knew that she didn't want him to say no,

"Professor Lupin, actually, you know how all of these Dementors are going around? Well, I was figuring maybe you could teach me a spell to at least defend myself, at least one spell?" Alaina begged

Lupin tried to hesitate, but he thought back on something.

"You do have an exceptional reason to why you want to learn more, and I don't like the idea of you being sent to the Dementors, Alright, But Remember, you must use this spell, very carefully." Lupin instructed

Alaina smiled and said

"Yes Sir, I promise."

"Alright, this magic is very advanced, the Patronus Charm can change depending on how you use it, Remember that now." Said Lupin

"The Patronus Charm?" Asked Alaina

"A Patronus, is a type of Charm that's almost like a shield, it takes the form of an Animal, and it could be used against mostly Dementors, in order for this Charm to Work, you must think about a memory, a very happy memory, a very strong happy memory." Said Lupin

"Are you ready?" Asked Lupin

Alaina nodded and took out her wand

"Close your eyes."
