I cannot emphasize this enough: I LOVE ALL OF YOU READERS! Comment and follow me so we can be buddies! And if you're a lazy butt like I was, actually MAKE THE ACCOUNT so we can be friends!
By the way, the following scene is based on a true event. An unrealistic-sounding, true event.
Sorry for taking forever. I know this is short, but I've had so many events in the past few weeks:( I'll update faster next time!
CHAPTER 4
🎩Kai's POV
So, I might want to take back that challenge accepted thing.
I gulp as our lift approaches the never ending cliff. This was dangerous! I'm serious here! We could be injured! This was NOT a challenge accepted kind of thing!
"Guys, I have a bad feeling about this. We could get SERIOUSLY hurt. I mean, this isn't just a challenge. This is a life threatening situation, and I don't think we should do this," I say shakily.
Logan nods his head like crazy as he stares at the dangerous path.
Even Melissa stays silent, slowly judging the situation.
Chriselle sort of laughs, and them gives me an "are you serious" look.
"Come on, you're not like SERIOUS serious, Mr. Challenge Accepted. Right?"
I look shamefully at the powdery snow at my feet. "Well, you know, we could really get messed up, I mean, like-" I pause, desperately searching for the right words,"You know, safety first right? Chance takers are accident makers! You'd rather be safe than sorry! Shortcuts cut life short! Safety is as easy as ABC- Always be Careful!"
Now Chriselle just looks bewildered. They all burst out laughingffn, and Chriselle asks, "Are you okay, mother hen? And where are you spilling these dumb safety lines from?"
"School!" I scowl. "And no, I am not okay because we are about die!"
She sighs, laughing to herself.
"You know what? Thanks buddy," Logan pats me on the shoulder.
"No problem, but what are you thanking me for again? Oh yeah,
for saving your life by helping you realize how dangerous this is?" I ask.
"No! Hell no! Thank you for making me look a lot manlier and for helping me realize that there was something wrong with me when I was scared of this little bunny slope; there's nothing to be scared about!" he laughs, and takes off.
"BUNNY SLOPE? YOU CALL THIS A BUNNY SLOPE? WAIT! DON'T LEAVE ME HERE! NO! " I yell, frustrated.
Chriselle is practically about to explode from laughter now. "Challenge accepted," she mocks in a low voice.
"Hey! Don't make fun of me! I was foolish back then, when I didn't know this was so scary! If you get injured, don't say I didn't warn you!" I say defensively.
"The kid's got a point," Melissa breaks in. "I've been on so many hard trails and yet I have no idea what to do with this one."
"Don't tell me you're chickeni-"
"Ah hah! Point for Kai!"
"Guys, just calm down. Just go with the flow guys," she says in a soothing, meditated hippie voice.
With that, she takes off her skis, lies belly first on top of them, and goes plunging down the drop, whooshing past trees and boulders!
(A/N: Yes, this happened in real life to my friend's dad. And somehow, he survived 0.O)
