"Teegan!" my mom yelled from down stairs

"Yeah?!" I asked

"Come help me move these boxes into the truck!"

"I'll be down in a minute!"

"You can finish packing your room when your done helping me!"

"Mom, I only have a few things left!"

"Come on!" She shouted

"Fine," I said under my breath while i got up off of my basically empty room's floor.

When I got down stairs I seen my mom had the whole entire down stairs packed up neatly. I took a last look around before i started helping.

"What one's do you need help with?" I asked placing my hands on my hips

"These ones" She said pointing at a group of boxes that were marked Fragile~Glass.

I helped her pick one up, they were really heavy and made my arms fall asleep. It didn't help that i didn't make the volleyball team this winter so my arms were like literal jello from lack of exercise. When we got to the porch, the truck was pulled up, the door wide open. I stepped up on the ramp and carried the box as for back into the 16 foot truck that was half full, as we possibly could. We eventually got all of the boxes packed into the truck and i went back to packing up my room. The only good thing about this i thought is that my friends were moving to the same place this summer. I took my phone out of my back pocket and began to play my Spotify playlist that i put on shuffle. One of my favorite songs started playing, Stitches by Shawn Mendes. I began to dance around the room as i finished putting everything i owned into the box. I carried the box down stairs, and put it into our blue SUV, which we bought used when i was only about four years old, i'm 16 now. I got into the passenger side of the car and turned around to take a final look at the place I had called home my whole entire life.

"When we get to the airport, you are going to go through a lot of security" My Mom said

"Like What?" I asked

"Metal detectors, lots and lots of metal detectors. And if your lucky you might not get patted down,"

"But why?" I asked another question

"So they can make sure your not bringing weapons or bombs on the plane"

"Oh," I said

After we sat in complete silence for about 10 minutes i flipped on the car radio. Yet another one of my favorite songs came on, Distance by Jack&Jack. I absolutely love Jack&Jack and so does my friend Leona who was also moving to the same place i was, which was exciting.

"Turn that shit off" My mom said

"Mom! I love this song!" I said trying to get my way, which never happened because my mom was like a brick wall that not even Miley Cyrus's wrecking ball could knock down.

"You know i hate that synthesizer crap," she said turning the station to a heavy metal station

"You know i hate this crap,"

" Yeah but its better than what ever that shit was,"

"No, not at all," I said with a laugh

"I'm sorry we had to pack up and leave like we did, but at least Leona and Rian are going too"

"I really don't mind California seems like it is really amazing and yeah i would probably be really upset if i never got to see my two best friends ever again,"

As we drove to the airport i became slightly homesick, Ohio was always my home, but today my new life would begin. A new state, A new city, A new school and most of all a new house were all things that ran across my mind, and it scared me to think that i would be all the way across the country from where my life had taken place for 16 years.

We pulled our car up onto the ship that would take our car to California and grabbed our suit cases and carry on's before we walked into the airport. I followed my mom, doing everything she did. As she walked through the metal detector nothing happened, but they still scanned her with what i though was another metal detector. I walked through the metal detector and i heard i loud beeping sound and the next thing i knew i was on the ground. A police officer tackled me.

"Show me your hands!" The man yelled in a deep voice

I put my hands in the air and he slammed me against a wall and started patting me down. After the thorough violation the man began to scan with the same device they scanned my mom with.

"Go ahead," The man said, sounding slightly sorry for tackling me

As my mom and i walked toward a huge desk my stomach began to growl, I hadn't eaten breakfast. I was so hungry i could eat a cow and horse with no problem.

"Tickets and passports?" A skinny, blonde woman asked us

" Right here," My mom said pulling two small pamphlets out of her purse

My mom handed the woman, what i assumed to be our passports and the woman looked at both of them and then at us.

"What is your name first, middle and last?" The woman asked me

"Teegan Charm Harrison," i stated

"How old are you?" The woman asked

"I am 16 years old," I said, unsure of why she was asking me questions

"Does your Father know you are going out of state?"

"I don't have a father," I said ashamed

"And your name?" she asked my mom sounding sorry for asking that question.

"Catherine Beth Harrison," My mom said

"How old are you?"

"I am 39 years old," she said

"You all can be on your way now," The woman smiled as she handed us our passports, "Have a nice flight"

"Thank you!" My mom said as we went to the door that lead to our plane

My mom had a tear in her eye as she walked onto the stairs of the plane. I looked back, remembering this was the last time i would ever see my home again. I stood at the top of the stairs, the plane was so high up that i could see the whole town from there. I wiped my tears away as i boarded the plane and sat in the window seat next to my mom.

"Please have a seat, fasten your seat belts, and be prepared for lift off," I heard a voice over the loud speaker

I put my belt on and looked out the window. I would miss Ohio, I knew i would. I clutched my fists and felt the plane begin to go forward. My heart started to race and i began to breath heavily. The planes feet lifted off of the ground and we were flying. I looked out the window, it was beautiful, the trees were all green and the flowers were all blooming. I sat back in my seat and took my phone out. I put the ear buds in my ears and began listening to Doing It Right by Jack&Jack and my final thought before zoning out; Next stop, LA California.
